No diagonal rails :-(

Post by Amosh »

I read it in the german TransportGiant forum:

They are planning to use a four-way railway layout, so all curves will be 90°, no diagonal tracks like in TT  They say, it wouldn't look as good and it would be too confusing for newbies...

They have to do better. The newbies reason is a s***-reason, I bet they found an error in their game engine!

The graphics are great, and by the sounds of it the gameplay sucks. They better change the gameplay or they lost a player. (me)

We'll have to send them some mail that newbies will have tp play some tutorials or a switch for that thing would be great.

That's what I've reported on their site, A LOT of TT players don't like it
But the Austrian severs have big problems
The whole week I haven't seen any reaction from them (Schilcher and Egelkraut)

Well I haven't visited in a long time, but I'll take your word for it. I surely hope they fix it. Or maybe the rails will be horizontal and vertical. :?

They haven't posted any screenshots with tracks other then straight left to right

And now they have server problems and perhaps holidays

We'll have to wait a long time to get an answer, screenshot

I've been reading the forum a bit and I stumbled upon this qoute (from Hans Schilcher):

Bei den Straßen wird es die "traditionellen" 90-Grad-Kurven geben. Alles andere ist optisch einfach nicht machbar - würde nicht gut aussehen.

Bei den Schienen testen wir zur Zeit zwei Systeme - ein 4-Weg-System (wie IG2) und ein 8-Weg-System. Zur Zeit führt nach Punkten das 8-Weg-System

In English (oh man I'm kind):

With the roads it will give the "traditional" 90 degree curves. Everything else is optically simply not feasible - would not look good. With the rails we test two systems at present: a 4-way system (like IG2) and an 8-way system. At present the 8-Weg-System leads to points (?)

And as far I could check: the 4-way rumour was NOT posted by anybody from the development team but just from a forum member (albeit a senior member) who was discussing a rumour.

No, it says that the 8-way system is preferred (I make that up from the context). So you can go every way.

Yes but in a later post he (or the other one) said it was not decided yet, and decided 90% four-way against only 10% chance for eight-way, for the reason that it would be difficult for newbies or some bulls*** like that.
