Simutrans 0.81.33exp released

Post by Hajo »

This are the release notes for Simutrans version 0.81.33exp

Only some minor improvements and bug fixes this time.

This release includes Adam Barclays new language reading code.
Simutrans now reads up to 40 language files from the "text" subdirectory. All files that end with *.tab are recognized. Now new translations no longer need to replace old ones.

It includes some support for the new food industry chain that Tomas Kubes is working on

There've been some bugfixes regarding memory management, particularly dangling pointers, buffer overflows and uninitialised variables.

It also includes a new finnish translation by Antti Louko.

I've tried to optimize some of the graphics routines. The gain was small on my system, about 5% speedup, so most likely you won't notice a change there.

As usual you can get it from:

I see on yor site that simutrans is available for Windows, Beos and Linux.
I suppose it wil not be available for os/2 or eCS, will it?

No. I can only port it to operating systens/hardware that I've got access to (Better said - somone of the development team needs to have such hardware.)

The last message in this thread lists some points how team members are selected:

Usually I prefer to choose new team members among people who have contributed to the mailing list for a while and this way shown that they have serious interest in the project and are willing to go with us for a longer while. Also this way it is possible to get a feel if we can work together.

Well I would like to help out, but I can't programm at all, so that's pretty useless.
I do a bit of tinkering with the ttd graphics, but that's all.

No worries :)
ATM Simutrans development is slow (as usual) but quite steady. It seems the current team is very good - and you know, never change a winning team ;)
