No, it isn't. New simutrans version had been relased recently, featuring custom airports. Read the simutrans forum carefully

it is most definitely not dead, not by any stretch of the imagination, you may, however be looking in the wrong place. the best place to check out is here http://forum.simutrans.com/index.php

as was written before, yes, support for airports has just been added releases are coming pretty steadlily.

i also found simutrans difficult but i kept with it because i needed to transport and i'd lost the CD for TTDX somewhere so i kept with it and once i'd shed my attachments to the ideosyncracies in TTDX and got used to some of the slightly strange feeling features of ST i got into it fast. i still love TTD and will look for my copy when i get home but ST is definitely a different kettle of fish

Well, if I get angry about every post like this, I would have died years ago from a heart attack ... By the way, the name is simutrans.

Simutrans? Dead? -- not at all -- Very alive and constantly developing.

You can get the most recent version from http://forum.simutrans.com in the announcment forum.

Need help learning simutrans? Read about it here..

In one pdf, you will be walked through the basics of building a rail system in Simutrans.

It's back, and better than ever. Much attention has been paid to documenting how to develop objects for Simutrans using a tool called MakeObj. ( http://wiki.simutrans.com/tiki-index.ph ... MobEn.Main )

Simutrans is in the same genere as TT, but is not the same game. There are some new concepts to experience.

[Yup, it has been 8 months since Simutrans stole me from here... had to step in and defend this incredible project.]
