The Iberian Project

Post by Raven »

I've been trying to start with this project since a lot of time ago, and i've decided to make it possible into simutrans.

these is what it is going to inlcude:

Spanish railways from 1985 (MZA, norte, Rnfe, ET, FEVE, ....)
Portugal railways from 1985
New set of road vehicles as an addon (pegaso, hispano...)
New Boats (some)

I've been thinking of a structure, my idea wasw to divide trains into ages so as to have a variety of trains (shunter, mixed, freight, express) for let's say, each two decades. this is what i've been thinking at:

early ages
(1850 - 1885 )
epoch I
1st gen Steamers

golden age of steam
(1885 - 1910 )
epoch II
2nd gen Steamers

convulsion, revolution and war
(1910 - 1940)
epoch III
3rd gen Steamers
1st gen Road Vehicles
early electrics

postwar period, the birth of Renfe
(1940 - 1960)
epoch IV
4rd gen Steamers
2nd gen Road Vehicles
1st gen Electrics
early diesels

dictatrship and transition
(1960 - 1980)
epoch V
3rd fen road vehicles
2nd gen electrics
1st gen diesels

Democracy and high speed
(1980 - 1995)
epoch VI
4th gen road vehicles
3th gen electrics
2nd gen diesels
early High Speed

New technologies
(1995 - 2020)
Epoch VII
5th gen road vehicles
4th gen electrics
3th gen diesels
1st gen High Speed

coments?

soon i'll be posting the locos i've planned to include in the epoch III, as i¡ll start with those

two more, the expensive but ultrafast 241 pacific and the massive 240 mastodonte

these two locos get improved versions so the 240 improved weighs 284 tons, reaches 115km/h and gets 1902 kw of power.... nice 8)

the 241 is intended for express services of heavy trains and the 240 is multipurpose for bad terrain (as 99% of the peninsula :))

don't know in your country, but in here there has't been a steamer for ages, we use somehting called new technologies....
anyway, regardng train tech, the highest speed on a comercial line is planned for the next year with a Talgo 350 in madrid - barcelona. really we have the trains, we have the line, but also stupid politicians which had impeded the conclussion of the project!!!! :D

just if somebody cares...

Post by Raven »

new approach!!!
i've found an amazing web page that states most (if not all) series of locos used in this country, tech data and building dates, so i've got a real timeline from 1945 to 2004 8)
for each loco there are gonna be some versions, improved from the original, basically the same loco but better, bigger and faster, as in real life.

these are going to be in exact order in the pak so each group of locomotives is ordered as follow:

i.e
0-6-0 mallet 1000 series
then
0-6-0 mallet 2000 series

1-2-0 ...
....

steam - diesel - dmu - electric - emu - railcars - trams

no more news

now the unpainted emu 445, i still have to place some pantos and bogies, but these will be made appart as they're common to many trainsets (at least at this scale)

and the small early 1845 wagon series. note some freight still does not exist at that time, but this is a game ;)

the twin tanker and passenger wags

of course, so much detail does not look good on 64 pak, for that is better pixelart.
