Expired certificate problem

Hello, in the last 2 days I can't access this forum from Google Chrome and my phone because it says that there is a problem with it's certificate. The full message here:
[+] Spoiler
Your connection is not private

Attackers might be trying to steal your information from www.tt-forums.net (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards). Learn more
NET::ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID

www.tt-forums.net normally uses encryption to protect your information. When Google Chrome tried to connect to www.tt-forums.net this time, the website sent back unusual and incorrect credentials. This may happen when an attacker is trying to pretend to be www.tt-forums.net, or a Wi-Fi sign-in screen has interrupted the connection. Your information is still secure because Google Chrome stopped the connection before any data was exchanged.

You cannot visit www.tt-forums.net right now because the website uses HSTS. Network errors and attacks are usually temporary, so this page will probably work later.
The problem occurs over all of my devices, tested with 3 different networks (home wifi, mobile data, school wifi).

Me and at least half a dozen others I know of are having this problem... So it's definitely everyone.

I have the same problem from my PC. Chrome responds that my date and time are "ahead".

I've just changed the computer date to December 07th and it gives me access normally.

P.S. Tried resetting the date back to December 08th as it should be and again no access with same error reported above.

--ignore-certificate-errors switch should fix the problem for Chrome until it is fixed on the server.

Chrome will not allow you to ignore a certificate issue. Can not get to the page.

I think Firefox would allow you to ignore this, but my apologies. Chrill had pointed this out to me yesterday too then I completely forgot about it.

The certificate had been renewed a while ago but the web server hadn't been restarted to pick the new certificate up. I've done this now - sorry again about the disruption!

Firefox wont allow you to ignore the issue. I tried 4 different browsers and only one allowed you to ignore it. Firefox, CHrome, and Edge will prevent you from accessing a website with expired certificates, while Internet explorer gives you the option to proceed at your own risk and constantly bugs you about it.

I hate disagreeing  but Firefox 57.0.2 (latest update) will, as it has done on previous versions.

That's how I managed to get on the forum.

Ah, I had no idea an actual due date is even there ! Thought it's a misconfig.

My own experience was that I can't access the forums through both Chrome and Firefox. It says that because the server asks HSTS there's no way to access as http rather than https. I can, however, see the forums (but not logging in) through proxies such as weblight.

Thank you for the resolve !

Problem strikes again:
Firefox wrote:www.tt-forums.net uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate expired on Monday, 5 February, 2018, 11:26. The current time is Monday, 5 February, 2018, 11:37. Error code: SEC_ERROR_EXPIRED_CERTIFICATE

The script that renews the certificate wasn't restarting the web server - this has now been rectified!

I know I'm probably knocking on the wrong door but...

Same problem with the certificate seems to appear on the NweGRF online translation manager (https://translator.openttdcoop.org/) while it doesn't appear on the game translation manager (https://translator.openttd.org/)

I don't know where to reports this...

You could try this web IRC client (or irc://irc.oftc.net/openttd if you already have an IRC client installed) and report it there, in case they don't see this post.

There is also expired certificate on openttdcoop.org

Unfortunately that's not something I can do anything about, but it's been mentioned in #openttdcoop - just need to wait for whoever is responsible for the certificate to fix it I guess!
