its not a big point, but maybe showing your sig in your profile, cuz sometimes people have useful links in hteir sig and when i click their profile its not there or i need to find a message first....

phpBB is open source. It's just I don't want to implement (m)any mods as it makes upgrading to newer versions of phpBB more difficult.
BTW, phpBB 2.2, the next major version, looks as though it's going to be very good. Have a look at http://area51.phpbb.com/phpBB22/ and register (be aware that board is in development and may have problems) - check out things like the user control panel, global announcements, and all sorts of other stuff.

Incorrect. That only tends to apply with nasty closed software, since the makers of nasty closed software refuse to acknowledge your right to change There's always people around to help out with PHP-related stuff.
