My money on France versus Sweden in finals. I think third will be England though.
Impossible scenario...……
For England to finish third they'll have to beat Sweden then lose to Russia or Croatia in the semi thus Sweden not in the final.....

Sorry (not sorry) Sweden! A rather smooth 2-0 win for us, with a few chances for us to have got an even higher lead there!

Well that hurt, but England deserved it. I'm proud we made it this far. Bring it home now, England.

Could Croatia chance it though ? I didn't watch the whole thing live and I only catch the rerun of the extra round and penalty shootout between russia and croatia. Croatia didn't made much impressive attacks on those times and the shootout was quite clearly thanks to a mistake from Russia...

This world cup is really unpredictable, at least IMO.

I think Croatia will be too tired. They looked it in the Russia game, and I doubt they'll recover in time. If England doesn't grasp this chance with both hands, well, I don't know ... they really couldn't have had an easier path to the finals. They've had one truly difficult game - which they lost, but that actually was to their advantage, avoiding Brazil and then France ^^;

I think England will be slight favorites against Croatia, and if they win. I suspect France will win against Belgium, giving us a ENG-FRA final. From there, I've no idea who'll win.

But honestly, i'm hoping for not England. Our football fans are absolute hooligans. After our 2-0 victory against Sweden, do you think everyone got a little tipsy, had some fun? Well, most probably did.
However some smashed up an ambulance and wrecked bus stops, another group decided the best celebration was to trash and storm through an IKEA. It's an absolute disgrace the stuff our 'fans' get up to.

Belgium will win this year. Don't worry about it.

... 3rd place.

I guess this really is an erratic WC until everything falls in line.

Or I could be wrong.

Just don't be too happy yet and you can do it.

Well.

That was a disappointing performance, I have to say.

Well, can England place themselves third? We'll find out on Saturday. Wether they do or not, they'll be heroes when they arrive home. I just hope Russia is prepared for the upset fans tonight.

Well, we got further than any (sensible) English fan would have expected before the tournament. Good luck to Croatia in the final, I hope they beat the French.

All in all, the England boys should be proud! Southgate helped unite a nation disenchanted with International Football.

What did we do to have this from you ?!

Correct. Was delighted to make the knockouts, and slowly it built up... gutted but proud.

I'd be surprised if Southgate doesn't invoke a revival of the waistcoat and tie look. I'm considering it myself!

This is Croatias first world cup final, and I wish them the best for it.

Well, a win by Croatia is a win for Europeans, just look at the player's "make-up"

In any case, it'd be really good to share the trophy with someone who hadn't had it.

Yeah, considering we had a trophy 20 years ago.
