Croatia celebrating like made at the end of that made ME mad.

They'd been woeful and just scraped through. Don't celebrate like you'd bossed the game.

Our turn now. Uh-oh, getting nervous. I mean, we're almost 20 places behind Switzerland on the rankings. We're not THAT much worse, but yes this is going to be difficult.

A German, an Argentinean, a Portuguese and a Spaniard walk into a bar. The Swede didn't join them because he's still in the World Cup.

Good god this match.

Easy kicks all around, none seems to go in, though.

Sweden got the game exactly where they wanted it. Switzerland didn't get a proper chance in almost all game. Deserved win but a dull game.

Hoping for you Brits can take down Columbia. Our defense won't give up so easily against either of you!

Well, we shall be playing Sweden in the next round! Nice to see us win a Penalty Shootout for once!

Come on England!

Colombia seemed to be losing their rag in the first half, so many yellow cards given out.

Heh. Here we are then. England vs Sweden. We have a decent track record against you lot. Don't think we'll go down without a fight.

The naïve Swedish public got to vote who would win the Sweden-England tie.

Sorry, he'll not score again this world cup. Blame Lindelöf and Granqvist for that. :)

Colombias team was a little rowdy. Not only did they get a handful of yellow cards, their manager was seen purposefully elbowing a passing England player, and a few of their players were noted scuffing up the penalty spot after a penalty was awarded to ENG.

If it hadn't been an England match, I'd have stopped watching some time into the second half. I found it to be a phenomenally ugly game and far too bad-tempered (although admittedly England mostly kept their cool, outside of Harry Maguire who I've managed to develop a passionate dislike of). Think we probably deserved the win on balance, but we desperately need to put some more shots on target if we're going to win more games, and I don't think Sweden's better defence will allow us to do that.

I believe the England-Sweden game will be a 1-0 affair. I just don't know which side will score the one goal. :P We aren't easy to score against, ask Mexico or Switzerland or even Germany. If we look at WC qualifying, the playoffs, and the World Cup itself, we have conceded twice in the last 6 games. That includes two games against Italy, you know!

And if we can continue to play like we have, we can keep you to 0-0. And from there on, all we need is one lucky bounce with the ball to progress. Or, you know, force penalties. England winning two shootouts in a row? Possible. I can't even remember the last time we made it to penalties (yes I can. It was 2004. We lost) but in the Under-21 Euros of 2015 we won several penalty shoot-outs to take the gold home with us.

I reckon the SWE-ENG may be a long haul, and similar to the COL-ENG, end up going all the way down to penalties.

If that happens, I'm not sure how good Sweden are at penalties! I have allied with the bookies though, and placed a bet whilst ENG are rather staggering favourites of the match, despite my belief it'll be a long and arduous battle...
Swedens team is older and more experienced, and i think of recent World Cups, they have a better record than ENG do.

The game of Dominoes continues, with Brazil the latest huge name exit, this time from Belgium. France however survive past Uraguay, lining them up to meet Belgium next. Next match, Sweden vs England. Sorry Chrill, my moneys on England!

My money on France versus Sweden in finals. I think third will be England though.
