What did we do to have this from you ?!
I'd just rather go out to the eventual Winners, and see a team who have never won the competition before win it also. Whilst I hope Croatia beat France, I do not expect that it will happen, France have a good squad. But, this is the world cup in which anything can happen.

It already has, so you're a bit late to that party :P Sales of Waistcoats are up something like 30% during the World Cup.

I meant a bit more long term than just for the duration of the cup. I would join the revolution, but no one needs to see me dressed far posher than i actually am, I'm common as muck.

Congratulations France ;) Worthy winners, I'd say. Tough opponents and pretty much always looked to be in control.

Well deserved win by France, and a must-mention journey by Croatia.

I was expecting a close by match but alas, apparently it's true that Croatia was exhausted.

Even though we did win, i still have to congratulate Croatia, for reaching for the first time of their history the finals. Congrats France, congrats Croatia

Croatia played beautifully but got real unlucky. Still, the referee made a correct call for the penalty which led to 2-1. I cannot disagree with that one.

Nothing like kicking a ball around to give a country a sense of importance.

Friend texted me last week asking if I'm watching the World Cup since Croatia is doing so well. Like I'm supposed to care because I'm Croatian-American.

I come from Denmark, Norway, Switzerland and Austria, and i really hated it when Swedes had beaten the Swiss. And i really hate Croatia because of what they done to Denmark.

The new FIFA Rankings are finally here. Highlights include:

* France lead the tables as the number 1 country in the world
* Croatia has climbed from 20th to 4th
* Germany has fallen from 1st to 16th
* Sweden has climbed from 24th to 13th, therefore overtaking the previous number 1 ranked team

These changes have been caused in part by a new ranking system introduced, based on the more generic Elo ratings used in for example Chess.

Other strong climbers are Uruguay (14 to 5), England (12 to 6), and Russia (70 to 49). The biggest fall is Egypt, 45 to 65.
