Major Attack in France

France has declared a national state of emergency and closed its borders after at least 120 people are killed in multiple gun and bomb attacks in Paris. Hostages were taken at Bataclan, many of whom are thought to have died after the building was stormed by security forces. Deaths were also reported at several other locations in the centre of Paris.

There were multiple points of attack, including Bataclan (a historic and well known theatre in Paris), La Belle Equipe (a restaurant in 10th district, Paris), Le Petit Cambodge (a restaurant in 11th district, Paris), Le Carillon (a bar located near to Le Petit Cambodge), Stade de France which was hosting a football match at the time, and potentially Les Halles (a shopping mall near the centre).

It is currently unknown what, if any group performed this, and what any motivations were.

Rather scary what is going on, and seems to be a co-ordinated set of attacks. The incident is ongoing, and numbers / locations were correct at time of post / future edits.

French President Hollande has decribed this attack as "an 'act of war' organised by the Islamic State (IS) militant group". The death toll currently stands at 129. There were three groups of attackers.
This is the worst attack in Europe since the 2004 Madrid bombings.
