Re: Jeremy Clarkson's BBC contract will not be renewed
I've just caught up to all 3 episodes. I think it's quite good, it has got better in the last couple now that they've stopped forcing the audience to make ooing etc. Could do with not making a fuss about the water splash still though. Evans is a bit shouty but he's toning down a bit.
Finally, the competition between the guests and the weird introducing each other is odd. They shouldn't maintain that but overall the quality of the filming is as good as ever.

Just watching Episode 4 now, and quite liked Prof. Cox's comment about when he was in a Typhoon, and asked what would happen if they carried on over Ireland....
Certainly made me Giggle
Re: Jeremy Clarkson's BBC contract will not be renewed
Did they film all the studio segments in one go because I'm pretty sure Chris Evans hasn't changed his outfit yet.
Re: Jeremy Clarkson's BBC contract will not be renewed
Studio segment for last episode being filmed today.
Very much a retired regular poster..... If you can say that
Re: Jeremy Clarkson's BBC contract will not be renewed
I'm sure he will has changed his outfit now that people have picked up on him wearing the same outfit each episode. Either that or he just doesn't care, and knows he's leaving at the end of seriesNordic Dragon wrote:Studio segment for last episode being filmed today.
Re: Jeremy Clarkson's BBC contract will not be renewed
It'd be really weird if they went through exchanging the audience to make it seem like a different day and overlooked his clothes accidentally. ^^

So today is the last one of this season, and according to speculation I've read Evens is getting the boot.
Re: Jeremy Clarkson's BBC contract will not be renewed
I heard a rumour somewhere that Matt said he'll leave if Evans doesn't go.

Saw this morning that Top Gear USA got the boot from History.
I wonder with the "dismal" viewership this season made the BBC wish the fracas with Jeremy never happened

Anyhow, this series wasn't the best at all by a long shot. I missed out on two or three episodes because quite frankly, it was boring as hell.
Edit: Look at what I've just found.........
Edit 2: And this.
Very much a retired regular poster..... If you can say that
Re: Jeremy Clarkson's BBC contract will not be renewed
Well I've just seen on BBC News that according to Twitter Evans has stepped down.

Well thank God for that.
Matt LeBlanc will hopefully be kept onboard for a new series. Together with Reid and Harris, they could make a decent trio without trying to emulate what Clarkson et al did so well. Go your own way, boys! Please do keep both Sabine and Eddie as "useful sidekicks". I enjoyed them both.

My Scenarios:
Archipiélago Hermoso (Latest Release: Version 3.2)
Turnpike Falls (Latest Release: Version 0.91)

That Harris fella is very good. Proper motor journalist, not the daft rubbish of Evans (or indeed those three)

Re: Jeremy Clarkson's BBC contract will not be renewed
Seems Evans wasn't that popular with his TG crew mates.
It also seems to confirm that Matt LeBlanc will be promoted to the main host. BBC also say the rest of the crew will remain.

Re: Jeremy Clarkson's BBC contract will not be renewed
Matt LeBlanc has signed a two year deal with the BBC to continue his Top Gear hosting duties.
The article also states "The US star will be joined by Chris Harris and Rory Reid with regular appearances from Eddie Jordan, Sabine Schmitz and The Stig." - So seems not much is changing other than Evans.
BBC News.
IMO - Best thing they could have done was to keep LeBlanc on as a main host, he was the star in the pack for me last series. Not sure if the BBC is being too optimistic with signing him for 2 series, unless there is an option for a second to not be made should next years series not do that well!

Re: Jeremy Clarkson's BBC contract will not be renewed
LeBlanc was a much better host as the series progressed, so glad to see he's stayed on the team. Good riddance Evans went though, couldn't stand the bloke.
Re: Jeremy Clarkson's BBC contract will not be renewed
LeBlanc, Reid, Harris. That's the new TopGear trio then? They'll be the main hosts and do the studio segments? It could work. They definitely got along better, so hopefully this can develop nicely.

It would appear those 3 are going to be the new Trio, yes, so are they maybe trying to be like Old Top Gear already?Chrill wrote:LeBlanc, Reid, Harris. That's the new TopGear trio then? Re: Jeremy Clarkson's BBC contract will not be renewed
It's almost time for the first Grand Tour episode to air, isn't it?
