Hi everyone,

A week ago I got a PM from Romazoon .. he and I been working on the Romazoon Object set for some time.

Unfortunately he been a very sick person for some time and the message I received from him he says he only has a week or so to live.

I pray he is wrongg and be with us a long time yet.

So today being Sunday and we have members all over the world, different religions and beliefs hoping if we all can say a pray and wish him our best .. just maybe he will pull through.

Thanks all.

I don't believe in a god, but I've had dreams that claim the afterlife is a dream you never wake up from. Hopefully he'll be okay, but if not I hope my dreams were telling the truth.
I have Asperger's, please be easy on me about stuff. My apologies if I've been a problem for you in the past.

Why are we here? What's the reason our universe exists? Maybe we are dreaming.
Maybe one day we will know.

This surprising support i receive from some of you guys is touching me more than i thought it would. So thank you GarryG for leaking the information that i m leaving this world soon.

I have a stomach cancer and it s really really tough to endure.
I m only 37. basically it killed me in one year, and i know to have no chance of survival since mid february...

Life can be so short, like a dream... so I liked what you guys said about afterlife and dream. It will make me much more peaceful to think about death this way.

Good bye everyone, and i take this as opportunity to thank one more time the openttd community for the countless hours of enjoyment this game brought to me.

(Feel free to move my post to it s own thread, i m too tired to do so...)

It is shocking but you have to think that you are going to a better place, have no doubts about that.

One of my best friends is in the same situation as you, but much worse because he is the victim of his wife, a narcissistic psychopath who makes life impossible, in fact I think he got sick thanks to her.

Enjoy and share with your family, friends and loved ones 200% this time and do not be afraid of what is coming, stay calm, everything that comes is good.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I am very saddened to hear. We thank you for your contributions to our community, and I am so very happy to hear of the enjoyment this game has brought you. My thoughts are with you.

Please note that the AuzObjects thread was intertwined with the discussion of Romazoon's health and was difficult to split, so I chose to split from their own post. If anyone feels that there is a more suitable title to this topic, or a more suitable section for it to be in, please feel free to PM me or another moderator about changes.

Not a easy topic to give a suitable forum name to. Maybe a "Honor Roll for Past Members" .. but not just those who we know who have left this world but also those who have contributed to the forums but have not been active on here for maybe 12 months or more.

Good Afternoon Everyone,

As a close friend of Romazoon and fortunate enough to meet in person and spend many hours playing OpenTTD - I can't describe how much he will be missed by everyone who has met him. He has taught me how to the play the game and inspired me to contribute back to this amazing community. It feels like only yesterday since we met, having spent many hours creating fantastic networks and discussing all manner of things together with our friends. You can find some of our creations our server thread and indeed also in his own 50+ page screenshot thread. Let us not forget his graphics GRFs and other contributions across the board.

Today I have received the news that our friend has gone to sleep happily with his loved ones with him and sends us all here love and good wishes too. In one of our most recent conversations we discussed what amazing new things are coming out for OpenTTD and how myself and a few others would make sure to build a park in all of our games for him. Hopefully maybe a few other people may wish to make a park too, I know he would be very happy.
Regards,

Tinny/Tintinfan. :)

Thank you Tintinfan for passing on the news. Good that he is no longer suffering. He been ill a long time. Message I got from him 12 months ago he thought he would go in October last year, but he proved doctors wrong and held on.

If you hear from his family send them our condolences from all here in the forums.

I'll always remember Romazoon for the inspiration I got from him. That's how I learnt to make good sprites and do shading properly. Really sad to hear this news. Time comes and goes for everyone. People who have contributed the most to a platform will be remembered forever by the players of that platform. Romazoon was like a teacher for me when I saw his sprites, never really talked to him but was really amazed by his sprites and wondered how much time and effort did he spend on making these sprites. Salute to Romazoon for all the work he has done to make OpenTTD a really famous game and for making GRF packs that almost everyone loves to use.

From Me and all of the TT-Forums Community,
Thank you Romazoon, thank you so much.
Thank you for the GRFs you made that people still play to this date
Thank you for teaching us GRF developers the art of 8bpp graphics
Thank you for Everything we got from you.

We all hope you rest in peace buddy.
Thank you so much

This is sad news indeed. Thank you Romazoon for all your inspiration. You made such stunning dioramas, many are the times I've been sitting and gaping in awe and wonder over your screenshots. And to be ripped away from life only 37 years old, that's heartbreaking.

May your contributions to the TT world be remembered for as long as people continue to play this game.

I, too, would like to mourn the passing of our good friend and fellow forum member Romazoon. I have spent many hours with him on multiplayer servers, he was a great builder at both functional rail networks and eyecandy, and I'll always have the savegames to remember him by. Here are some screenshots of things he built in our more recent server games. May he rest in peace.
