Guess where Geo has been today
IMPORTANT NOTE:
We were given permission to film in the railway yards either with supervision, or after being advised on safety and information.
Neither myself of my production team condone trespassing or walking on railways. DO NOT go walking around railways, yards or anything of that sort without full permission, supervision or some sort of permit along with knowledge of safety on the railways. The three of us are fully aware of the dangers of railways and were keeping fullyaware of our surroundings at ALL times. Thank you.
I guess everyone here knows that. but just want to make that clear to some others and to those who may ask what we were doing there.

Re: Photo of yourself??
Better update mine I suppose
Well, as it turns out, I have no recent 'normal' pictures of me. So I took a fairly horrendous one with my webcam. My eldest son wanted to be in it too.
[/url]
(If any of these don't show up, let me know. if they are too big, I'll change the code for a clickable thumbnail)
Improvised "India" Uniform I wore for a Halloween night
My "Anti-Ottoman" Uniform Either Gallipoli or Mesopotamia, although I only have P1908 Webbing, not P1914 Leather which would be the more common in Gallipoli.
Pte. Burden, R, 3294. 14th Service Battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment (The Birmingham Pals) Circa 1916
F/Sgt. Burden, R, 3294. No.43 Squadron RFC. Circa 1917
Pte. Burden, R, 3294. Royal Warwickshire Regiment. August 1914
Pte. Burden, R, 3294. North Staffordshire Regiment. December 1914
(Yes, I got married in uniform )
Pte. Burden, R, 3294. Blackwatch Regiment. Circa 1915
Pte. Baranowski, S, 9451. 1st Independent Polish Parachute Brigade. September 1944
Pte. Burden, R, 3294. South Staffordshire Regiment, 1st Airlanding Brigade, 1st Airborne Division. September 1944.
I *think* that just about covers my uniforms. I don't have many of me in my Blackwatch uniform, and none of me in my Tank Corps uniform sadly. (But that's more or less a brown boiler suit anyway)
May have posted some of those already, but i'm tired and I just copied the post from a similar one I made on another forum recently.

It could well be a Hall, looking at it, shame to see any steamer or indeed any loco in such a bad state.

Re: Photo of yourself??
Just curious, are you actually in the Army? if not, why did you decide to get married in 'uniform' ?
Ukončete, prosím, výstup a nástup, dveře se zavírají

Very interesting outfits, SJ. Do quite like how you've "recreated" a person.

She is awaiting restoration at the Crewe Heritage Centre.
Filmed Princess Elizabeth yesterday evening. Was the final bit to film for my project.

Re: Photo of yourself??
Well this topic hasnt been posted in for just a few days shy of a full year, so I thought I'd throw a recent one of me out there. Taken just last weekend at a small WW2 show at the museum i help out at based at the HQ of the 8th US Airforce during WW2 at Bushey.
Our display was based in one of the original buildings on site, the theme was that we had recently captured the building from the retreating germans and had turned it over to our own use as a small Command Post and field kitchen for our unit. I am stood on the left enjoying a well earned breakfast of bacon and egg after a long night on patrol. A few details you may be interested to know and pick out of the picture are the Bipod and Barrel of the B.A.R (Browning Automatic Rifle) on the table, the V42 knife hanging from my belt on my right side and all the food we ate that weekend was cooked on an original 1942 dated US Army M1937 field range which is run on petrol.

Re: Photo of yourself??
I found an old photo the other day and it inspired me to do this.
I know I have a lot of very old photos with me by the railways and such. I really want to find them and recreate them again someday. I know it's possible and I'm certain I'll recognise most railway places. Though I want to try and get them as exact as possible.
<snipped>
Waterloo really hasn't changed that much over 15 years (ish)
I will re-do that photo again though. It is too high-up. Needs to be taken lower down. My friend who took it doesn't use DSLRs so I was expecting it to be a bit off anyway. It's the only one where I'm actually in focus though.

Re: Photo of yourself??
You want a direct comparison, same expression, with train leaving platform, etc.

Tis indeed Don't ware it that much because I'm scared of ruining the print on it.doktorhonig wrote:EDIT: Is that Rainbow Dash on the second pic?
Edit: No, I am not going to be wearing it to the meet on Saturday
Dave, I don't know about the same experssion personally. I won't want to wave at trains myself haha. It was a pity no train was leaving that platform at the time otherwise we would have had it in too. Maybe next time though. Hopefully.
