I'd love some challenges like that, they can be rather amusing!

Ep 2 was drivel. Ep 3 was way way better.

That DB11 was mesmerising

I thought Episode 2 was more funny then Episode 3.

Then again I imagine people will enjoy different parts of the series.

To be fair I mostly watch Top Gear and the Grand Tour for the silly stupid s*** those guys do to each other... like Hammond Revving that Hellcat every time they drove through a tunnel.

I'm with Dave on this. The three guys really found their way into the old spirit with that Italian tour. Hammond's muscle car and his way of annoying May was taken perhaps one step too far, it started to feel like old news. Still, I thoroughly enjoyed the episode.

I enjoyed it but it still is just everything that was wrong with the later series of Top Gear with the 3 of them, too much forced humour rather than it being a bit more organic. That said, it still made me laugh - although I wish I had my original resolve to hold out for 8 episodes to air and then binge watch them all in the free 1-month trial period.

The joys of being off work for over a month, being able to get up at 11am and watch the new episode.

Yeah that's it. It's too scripted.

I always liked the stuff they did in England cos they paid less attention to it, and so it was always just a bit more off the cuff.

I still laugh, and it's good to see the format holding. Some of the gimmicks are terrible though.

It should, but only after they claim that the Celebrity they will be having is Chris Evans, and kill him!

I never thought I'd say this about a car show ever.... never crossed my mind... but...

Episode 4, that made me ill... I mean who the hell thought a bone, hide and guts car was a great idea? I actually had to skip the Eco Friendly part of the show because it was making me sick.

EDIT : BTW, I'm actually smaller then Hammon (How!? I thought brits where short people?!) I'd fit in the bumper of most cars being only 170cm (or 5'7''... I might be Canadian but 5'7'' is what I say more often then 170cm)

Well, if it wasn't for the fresh meats (when clarkson first arrived the bones were already meatless and probably had aged/cured or so) it won't rot...

The Flintstones? Jeremy's car did give a vibe of a modern take on the Flintstone's car. We should create a newgrf set based on Jeremy's idea :P

Prime Video buffers heavily as soon as it starts showing HD. It's unwatchable. Any other streaming service I use works fine, even HD live sports broadcasts such as Formula 1, but Amazon can't show me the Grand Tour properly. Them signing the three Top Gear boys was a mistake since clearly they are losing MASSIVE revenue on not offering the service in the first place, and once it became available it was s***. Oh well :)

Richard Hammond has caught the eyes of the complaining crew, after a 'gay ice cream' joke.

Chrill: perhaps Amazon needs to get their content closer to you - CDN caches etc in your country or area. If they've just launched it may just take a little while before they get this sorted. Prime streams fine in 1080p for me the majority of the time. No 4K TV but I expect that would be fine too. (I've recently taken to storing some backups of Blu-Rays I bought on a remote server and have been able to stream them - 40Mbps or so video - over sshfs over the Internet with no bother, which I was quite pleased with.

Redirect Left: to be honest I thought it was a pretty poor 'joke' (and the reaction was surely predictable too, which makes me wonder why he said it - all publicity is good publicity maybe?)

It just wasn't very funny, really, scripted or not...

The battleships game in ep 5 has been my favourite bit so far. Good old raucous Top Gear style fun.

It doesn't matter if it's scripted when the outcome is cool. Namibia specials (fri and sat release) are going to be a bust, I reckon, because they'll be so heavily scripted. Their earliest epics were the best because they seemed a lot more natural. Even the Bolivia and Middle East specials were obviously choreographed the whole way.

That game of battleship looked not scripted to me. James May displayed genuine pleasure when blowing those cars up. The kind of joy you'd only really get when pleasantly surprised :P

First "special" - yawn.

Not anywhere near as good as the Top Gear specials. Which was sort of the point wasn't it?
