Looks good. :) I'm downloading it right now!

EDIT: By the way, if you stick the line:

1 24 "TTDX Configurator.exe.MANIFEST"

in the TTDX Configurator RC file, you won't have to distribute the manifest file with the program.

Nice job!

I have some questions though:

What is the limit of sprites so i can check what sets i can use?

Why there are five different LongVehicle Set files? (longbuses, mctrucks, volvotrucks, scaniatrucks and longvehicles w.grf files)

And there are tempsetw.grf and tempsetpw.grf, was that one with "p" that has less sprites in it?

The four longvehicles comprise the Longvehicles v2 which avoids conflicts with some other sets.
It also allows parameters to male some of the long buses shorter.

tempsetpw.grf has player colours on the vehicles, tempset has the original colours.

I got that idea days ago, but I completely forgot. Thanks for reminding me! :P

Hehehe...Once I exceeded 10 000 and the result was that I received a message from WIN that there isn't enough memory...There was 1.9 GB free before I started playing, and when it loaded, I had 14 MB :!: :!: :!:

[returning to topic...]

From the next version, TTDXC will have more style even when finding errors. This feature will also help me isolate errors in any routine very easily.

Enhanced GUI

Post by Basje »

Hi,

I was wondering why the enhanced GUI can only be enabled or disabled? The Alpha patches al have a bit switched enhanced GUI so have to manually change it each time after changing something with TTDX Configurator?

Besides this, it is a very nice tool which makes life more easy.

Groeten,

Bas

TTDXC is smart enough to realize if you have Windows XP, and then create the manifest file ONLY if you have Win XP.

1 question: will future Windows versions support this to add the system themes the the program? I guess I'm asking for some sort of miracle.

I think I will create the manifest file simply when the detected OS is not anything older than Windows XP.

that 'recognizing' would be good

and I suggest to delete XP from the TTDXC name ...

That is part of the version ID. I will remove it when we reach TTDXC 2.0. I'll have to skip some versions though.

I think so. Well, it's the case with Windows Server 2003 anyway (I think). No idea about the likes of Longhorn. By then, you'll probably be on TTDX Configurator 4.68 anyway. ;)

What do you mean? You don't have to create any manifest files: just stick it in the resource file, and that's all you have to do. You don't have to write it to a file, just leave it as a resource entry, and Windows automatically picks it up.

I don't think so. I cannot store lines with multple " chars like the one below.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>

So in the RC I'm replacing " with #, and then with TTDXC I replace them back to ".

Um. What are you trying to do? Just put that line exactly as I said in the RC file, and leave the manifest file in the same directory as the RC. Then build the RC file with the compiler, and it'll be built in. In other words, at the end (or start) of the RC, stick:

Code: Select all

1 24 "TTDX Configurator.exe.MANIFEST"
in the file. Don't put it as a string or anything, just put it like that. Build the file. Build TTDX Configurator. Move it somewhere without the manifest, and run it - it'll have XP-style controls.

Suggestion: have each switch have a help button that links to the appropriate section of the online version of the manual for more detail.
Maybe include the HTML manual with TTDXC for use when offline.

The status bar already gives a brief explanation. Adding the amount of links you propose will increase the program size (and waste my time) in big proportions.

TTDXC 1.81 released.
- Added switches from 2.0.1 alpha 6 to 2.0.1 alpha 8
- The enhancegui switch is now totally configurable
- Added ability to automatically check for TTDXC program updates once a day
- Reduced program file size in 766 KB using UPX compressor

BTW, thanks to Marcel now all graphics at TTD Urban Renewal are available for DOS. (except NIGHTTD Conversion)

Eh, Andrex, seems that the link on your site still points to TTDXC 1.80.

And what's this 1.82?
