Can't build - too many stations/loading areas ---help pls

Hello, Haven't played for months after computer crash. Running TTDpatch 2.5 beta9. Have checked Wiki, but can't find what is the limit of stations or how to change the number allowed per area. Any help welcome, Thanks, Wayne

You have 250 stations on the entire map. To build another, you must first remove an existing station. The canonical way of doing this is by combining two nearby stations into one.
To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

OpenTTD have a far higher limit, i have never come across any stationlimit even when i fill the entire map.
And you can play with others online :)

I'm not a very good programmer but maybe the good parts of OTTD can be copied?

Because i'm not good enough programmer yet.
And i think i'd prefer expanding the map and making the game clustered instead.

Starbud. Give it up son.

TTDPatch far pre-existed OpenTTD and the reasons behind the non-identicality of the two programs goes far beyond the fact that no one wants to do it.

So i assume that mean that pasting the good parts isnt as simple as just pasting it with a few modifications?
I guess i know that somewhere in the back of my mind but those programmers seem to be very good at programming :)
I wich i knew where to start myself and that i had the time to learn.
And IF i knew how to do it i would make a bigger map first of all :)

The mere fact that OTTD is written in C(am i wrong?) and TTDP in Assembler should be enough to tell you, no, it isn't that easy.

Has any work been done on adding more stations to the list? I thought the number grew in my saved game with the latest nightly but I still hit that blasted limit when I added another industry line to my already overcrowded map that ive been working on for about 6 years or so. 1 main company with 4 subsidiaries all servicing each other on the same network of track.

Sounds like a very intresting map, any chance we could see it? :)
Maybe someone will become inspired and add the posibility to have more stations.

At the moment i'm sortof down but i'm slowly comming out of it.
(meaning therefor i wont even try to do any new projects at the moment).

As far as I know the station limit has not changed under TTDPatch. What is new is the addition of newobjects, but these are inert and are eye-candy only.
