need help to haul steel

so i am using the patch and want to start hauling steel. What do i do? I have the DB Lx installed and want to have trains hauling steel to a factory. However, i have not been able to get a train to do it! What am i doing wrong?

You have to use the refit option. In early years with the DBXL, use the open wagons and while your train is in the depot, refit it the wagons to carry steel.
When your train is in the depot, the "reverse train" arrow changes to two boxes. if you press on it, the refit window appears.

I presume you're supplying a Steel Mill with raw materials?

Unless they have selectable goods off... then they don't need to, but it does help multi-item cars being on the same train is fun, I did it with the US set, made two trains, and having 5 or 6 boxcars, I put them on one train refit them there then put them on the actual train I was going to use, a little expensive but then I used the other train too.. what I did was had some cars as grain some as steel and some as goods, and since we still don't have multi car available to be done on the same train yet (I think) its the only way to do it... true American train hauling...
