Yes, i am awesome. But really patchman/eis_os/Lakie/stevenh/Csboka/JGR/Dalestan should get A LOT of the praise. Along with the mass that are the artists and NFO coders.
(patchman more so as he started the patch)

There is only problem, they apparently got real busy and got sidetracked with their life instead.

I'm still waiting for final patch for years. ;(

Final patch?

I thought one of the ideas was that it kept getting better and better, ie never a final version :?

Please go ahead and become our latest new developer!

Josef Drexler has committed a LONG time of his life to this patch - asking him to continue unabated is a bit unfair - he'll come back round to it when he feels like it.

Jim Powers, our legendary map builder, has a theory that even if you sometimes fall out of love with The Game, eventually you'll come round to it again - and it'll be just as good or better than it ever was before. The man's a visionary I tells ya.

Sorry for not being clear.

I was waiting for the stable 2.6.

Sorry for confusion...

And about the developer...

I have a little experience on the c languages, or any compile programs that is used for the TTDX.

Got any tutorial on that, Dave?

I maybe can pick up the rest of the mess after staff.

It doesn't use C AFAIK. It's written in x86 assember.

Search Google, or buy a book on it.

You were told wrong. TTDPatch is written in x86 assembler.

As far as I'm aware, TTDpatch is composed of several parts:
The loader for it is indeed wrote in C, similarly the new land generator is also in C.
The bulk of the patches are however in x86 assembly.

The new land generator is written in C as well. There is no C++ in TTDPatch.
To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

[OT, ish]
Apparently there is a lot of monies to be made in C++ programming, is this true?

I believe that long ago it was stated by patchman that after the next stable he would retire from it's development. I'm uncertain as to whether this is still the case, but the general decline in activity on TTDPatch from all the developers combined with the generally long times between releases would lead anyone to believe the next stable may well be the last.

Any reason why not using the nightly ones? And please don't say bridge speeds. TTDAlter is evil and should be thrown away since ages...

(On modern hardware the searching of fragments is fast enough)

And yes, it may be the last version, or the next version. If you consider the first TTDPatch versions you could say we already did a damn good job.
We support even Vista and higher resolutions, no one even did know the direction when TTDPatch started, neither that we get so many pixels to play with... No TTDPatch Dev really want a ultimate final version...

On modern hardware, *compiling* is fast enough to do the necessary once a week, and then you can have a version of TTDPatch with your particular set of version information built in.

Could you back that up in some way? :? There are still a few things that TTDAlter can do that NFO can't, I believe. TTDAlter is still the most user-friendly way to modify vehicle parameters, anyway. And, in theory, I may one day get around to creating that TDF to GRF converter... perhaps by the time TTDPatch 2.6 is released. :P

Hello Eis_OS, nice to see you on TTF again.

And no, I don't uses the nightly. That probably crashes my system and / or the games. I prefer to stay on 2.5 or 2.6.
