Signalling Guide (with new NEW URL)

Hello,

as I have successfully finished my studies, my university account will be deleted towards the end of this month. Therefore I have moved all my TTDX-related stuff to a new permanent location: http://uwe.s2000.at/ttdx/. This includes my railway guides as well as the homepage of the GermanRV set. Please update your bookmarks and links accordingly and inform me if any links are broken or something else is wrong.

Greets,
Uwe

Edit by Raichase: Made this a sticky, hopefully people will know where to go to get their signalling questions answered.

UPDATE ANNOUNCEMENT!

I have completely revamped my TTDX site, updated the railway guide to include the new signalling patches of 2.6 alpha versions and added lots of other stuff.
Please take a look and contact me in case you find mistakes (bad grammar, spelling mistakes and the like) or serious flaws like obviously wrong information.

A CSS structural issue on the index page and possibly other pages as well:
The use of text-align:justify is ok for most of your columns (e.g. the paragraph "On these pages ...) but there is one place where you should override it with an inline text-align:left ... the highlights. My screen resolution is 800 x 600 and because of the bold, larger font and fewer words to a line, there is significant and very irregular spacing between words making the phrases almost unreadable.

Some link issues:

The links in the Signaling section such as "Signaling patches" take me to a page that says "TikiWiki is not properly set up:", perhaps due to work in progress? (Not at all ... it is a wiki issue - see DaleStan's post below)

Also, only one "l" in "signaling".

Overall, a very nice use of style sheets. :D

wiki.ttdpatch.net is broken, for reasons unknown. I've reported this to Patchman and orudge via IRC; hopefully it'll come back soon. In any case, that's not Uwe's fault.

Ehm, in my browser at school (IE7, don't know exactly which version because there's no menubar :P) a menu is shown in front of the text or something (see screen) thought you should know.

@Uwe ... I think it may be the way IE handles header tags.
You have this:

Code: Select all

<div id="navbar"><ul><li>[image link]</li><li><h2>Grundlagen</h2><ul>
<li>...</li>
<li>...</li>
<li>...</li>
</ul></li>
<li>...</li>
<li>...</li>
<li>...</li>
</ul></div>
Try this:

Code: Select all

<div id="navbar"><ul>
<li>[image link]</li>
<li><span style="font-weight:bold;">Grundlagen</span>
  <ul>
    <li>...</li>
    <li>...</li>
    <li>...</li>
  </ul></li>
<li>...</li>
<li>...</li>
<li>...</li>
</ul></div>

Might be time to unsticky this thread. Link is dead, and no wonder, it's 7 years old, or more...

Actually it is not quite dead. Perhaps we could get Uwe or a moderator or a SROTU to change the .ws part of the link to .at which works as intended, all the while changing the topic to Signalling Guide (with NEW new URL)
