No music?

Post by thingie2 »

I have no music when I play. Does anyone know why this might be and how to correct it?

Thanks

It depends if the music is playing.

Are you getting the title screen sound? If so, do this:

- Open the music player in-game.
- Click on "All" at the bottom of the window.
- Click play.

If everything is silent for you, head into your TTD folder, find the TTWin95 Config (The icon is a winking green fish), click on the Sound tab in the window that comes up and select "General MIDI" from the drop down box. Click apply or okay or whatever it is at the bottom and exit that window. Then start the game as you usually would.

Come back if you have any more problems.

THREAD NECROMANCY!

So hey, its now 4 years in the future, and Windows 7 is out.

I just upgraded to win7 from XP, and solved all the other compatibility problems or whatever that I had, except this one ... THE MUSIC IS GONE!

For some strange reason, I find the original midi songs oddly soothing, and would like them to continue playing in the game.

checklist:
- Ya, I checked all over the forums for a fix. For those who know, the search option on the forum isn't very useful, but I was still able to find fixes to about 4 or 5 other problems I had ... except this one. Help is appreciated.
- all sound options for the game are active, and sound effects work (midi player does not)
- tried the second fix recommended here (using the green config tool), with no luck or success.
- According to the lil green config tool, I have the default midi player set up, and when I test it using the green tool, it works ...

But ... it still does not run in the normal game. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Try running the mentioned config program as admin.
