Playing the game in tropical climat

Post by ericfa2a »

Hi all.

Now that i begin to master the game in the temperate climat (at the hardest diffculty level), did you think that it's worth to play it in tropical climat. Is there a better challenge in this climat than in temperate ? or it's time for me to make my own challenge !

Eric.

PS : i have re-discovered this game with ottd but i finally play with ttdpatch. I love the elecrical runway !!!. But i m'not up to date. Pherhaps, there is electrical runway in OTtd now ?

Electrified runway?

Do you mean overhead wires (for train tracks)?
If that's what you mean, you can have that in OTTD, but you need a nightly build.

The Tropic set is good with or without the Tropic Set.

If you look in the graphics section of the TTDP thread, you'll find the Tropic Refurbisment Set. It's very good!

The tropics is much harder to master because you don't have the same passenger production, thus everything has to come through industries.

The US Set is also very nice and challenging in the tropical climate.

If the current heat wave carries on I should think about making the DBXL fit for tropical climate too. 8)

Thanx all for yours replies.

So, playing the tropical climate is the another steps for me.
I will start a new game and i think i'll put some extra grahics and dbset in the game. So, i have te choice of these three sets :

- tropical set
- tropic refurbishment set
- and US set.

hmm. I'll try all these and i'll play with one which fits well to me.

Thanks all.

Eric.

Well - the old tropical set is sort of replaced by the new refurbishment.

But there is the original set (vanilla gfx) that isn't too good.

Definitely the Refurbishment or US Set is the one.

The Artic Renewal Set -- which is really an US/Canada Set with 2CC ;) -- can be set to work in Tropic as well, if I'm remembering the parameters correctly.

Mate. Learn not to make posts like that. The poor original poster might think you're attacking him with the amount of caps in that post. You also look like you're getting flustered over a climate choice.

There's no problem with m3henry's post. :)
Ok. I have downloaded the refurbishment set and started a new game in tropical climate in the hardest difficulty level.
Damn !! It's hard !!!! Well ! I think i must learn some new things to make theses towns grows !! Besides, there is some new industries and goods that appears and some that disappears.
I have the impression to play a new game and that's very fun !!!
Tanks you all for your replies and i will post here if have some difficulties to master this climate.

Exactly - Passenger routes really aren't possible in Tropical - you have to make the towns grow with food and water and stuff.
