Id love to play this on the net

Is there a way to reconfigure this game to play multiplayer on the net. I notice you can make it dial your modem but my internet is free. Any one get any ideas or a program that will help it do it.

Also is there a way to make it have more than 2 players on a Lan

Are you using the Windows 9x version? If so, you might be able to get it to work with other machines on the Internet - it restricts itself to the LAN doesn't it? I don't know as I don't have it.

Maybe someone else knows more?

The win version...can more than 1 player play? Does it use DirectX (DirectPlay)?

Has anyone seen if we can get the source for mod making?!

Yes, the Windows version of TTD does support multiplayer over a LAN using DirectPlay, but doesn't support playing over the Internet. I'm not sure if it's possible to make it work over the net - I might have a play about with it later.
