Patch .cfg file in Windows version

Post by Madmick »

Ok I thought I was smart, Installed TTD on Windows Xp and got it working with no dramas. I run the patch with -a -w ttdconw.cfg then the next time I run it get rid of those switches and put in - c ttdconw.cfg and it hangs.

Checked the folder and there is no ttdconw.cfg file as there should have been.

If I run the game with the -a switch it works fine but nothing gets serviced and keeps breaking down.

The same happens with the Windows version on a Windows 98 machine.

The DOS version used to work fine.

What have I missed?

TTDPatch is case-sensitive. -w is not the same as -W. To write a configuration file, you need the following command:

ttdpatchw -W whatever.cfg

Hope this helps,

Thanks for that it now writes the files. I also got around it by copying a cfg file from my old DOS game and modifying it.
