I've made a small change to the search backend for the forums. In theory, the new backend should be significantly more efficient, as well as halving the size of the database. If you notice any problems or find the search seems to be worse (or, indeed, better) than before, please let me know!

One positive side-effect I've noticed is the nightly backup now takes under a minute, rather than about 3 minutes before.

No, that's just the message that appears. As soon as the backup is complete, access is restored, which is usually at about 2 or 3 minutes past the hour.
