Hi again owen,
About the active topics link ...
This discussion may solve it.
http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... &t=1882375

Pardon me if I seem impatient, I am not.
It is just slightly annoying me so I might as well look it up for you.

Then about that green on black text ...
It is not codeblocks that are unreadable, it is attachements that have a black background.
See first post in this thread for an example.
http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php? ... 62&start=0

Sorry for the confusion.
I must have been confused.(That or I suffered from snowblindness :) )

Phew, that was a bit annoying, had to go and set the "show active topics" flag for every forum. But it's done now, so that seems to be working again.

Ah, yes. I do recall that problem from previous years. I don't think it was ever fixed though. I think the problem was that a different CSS class for links in the attachment blocks was required, or somesuch. Possibly you could dig through the old posts and see if there was a convincing reason for it not being implemented? ;)

Cheers for your help, anyway.

Thank you for fixing the active topics so fast.

Hmm, quoted links seem to suffer the same problem as those attachments.
See post above this one.

I had a quick look at the threads from previous years.
Apart from ¨Having to change the css¨, ¨It has always been like this¨ and ¨The theme is only used for a short period of time¨,
I did not find a good reason not to change it, unless the first reason is good enough.
(I might have overlooked something, I only checked the Christmass theme topics.)

Do the templates you reuse every year include the css file(s)?
If so I see no reason not to tweak a little bit.(White? Orange like before?)
Or do the original theme and the Christmass theme share the same css file(s)?
If this is the case that might be a second reason not to do it as you will have to change it back in a month or so.

I do not have phpbb installed and the manual I read a long time ago was for version 1.
I think my memory is outdated on the subject.

I basically have two TT themes, and swap them over. In the past, I think I just haven't got around to figuring out precisely which bit of CSS I need to tweak, considering I only want to alter links in quote boxes, and not everywhere.

I like the cristmas theme, it's kinda tradition :) But it's acting strange; when i open TT-forums the background is green, when i do a hard refesh it's white as it should, but when i close Chrome and open it again, it's back to that old green. Weird. Probably some strangity with Chrome. :?
Alcohol is not the answer, it just makes you forget the question.

Perhaps it still decides to store the backgrounds even though it temporarily changed

Indeed, it may well just be cached for some reason.

Yes, looks great. Why would it be different on a different browser?

Hi owen,
Feel free to add or not add these lines to your links section in the stylesheet for the x-mass theme.
Maybe you will want to tweak the colours a bit. Colour is a matter of taste so I will leave that part up to you.

For now they are:
White for unvisited links. Its X-mass theme ?
Readable green for active and visited. I kept these two togheter as you also do in your css file.
And bright(Like in The gremlins¨ BRIGHT LIGHT!! BRIGHT LIGHT!!¨) green for hovering.

As you requested only links in quotes and attachments are affected. I hope. I really do. ;)

Code: Select all

.quotecontent a:link,
.attachcontent a:link {
	color:#ffffff;
}

.quotecontent a:active,
.attachcontent a:active,
.quotecontent a:visited,
.attachcontent a:visited {
	color : #009933;
	text-decoration: none;
}

.quotecontent a:hover,
.attachcontent a:hover {
	text-decoration: underline;
	color : #00ff33;
}
