Announcing the Transport Tycoon Forums Meet 2008: The Movie
Ladies and gentlemen, it's been a long time in the making, but finally, the movie of the official Transport Tycoon Forums meet 2008 is available for your viewing pleasure.
It's not quite as complete as I'd like it to be - you'll notice the "beta" tag - but I may well put out a "special edition" which will be a bit more complete. Still, you get a pretty good idea of what the 2008 meet was like by watching it. The reception to it at this year's meet seemed good.
You can watch the film here. This is in streaming Flash format (H.264), so you'll need a recent version of the Flash Player to watch it (version 9 or higher). If you have a suitable offline player for H.264, you can download the .f4v here (289MB).
Hopefully the 2009 meet movie will be out before whatever meet is planned for 2010. On the subject of the 2010 meet, we are currently considering various options, including having two meets, one in the UK and one in the US. See this thread if you're interested.
If you have any comments on the movie, please post here - even if it's just to say you've watched it and you've enjoyed it (or not, as the case may be!), feel free to post them!
Enjoy!

Heh, that was pretty good. Was a bit worried when you couldn't find the tube from Leicester Sq though

"Where are we going?"
"To the tube."
"Which one?"
"the tube!"
Interjection by Jamie: "TO THE TUBEMOBILE!"
"I don't think there are that many around here."
There were probably some similarly amusing scenes from this years' meet, but I can't remember any. Perhaps we were just all boring this year.

I had to laugh at least three times while watching the film, so there must'vebeen at least two more amusing scenesjonty-comp wrote:There were probably some similarly amusing scenes from this years' meet, but I can't remember any.

I think it would be nice to have the forum names and the real names in the movie. I can't recognize anyone except for Owen Rudge, since he's the cameraman, Anders since he's the organizer. Pity the meet is too far for me to join in.
Any dream worth having,
Is a dream worth fighting for!

That is what I did last year, and do intend to do for the "special edition".Two5Kid wrote:I think it would be nice to have the forum names and the real names in the movie.

All I'm saying is I know gavelex's real name (he's not on here yet) so if he registers you know his name.orudge wrote:Um... what?

So why would I be putting the name of somebody who hasn't been to a meet ever, and who isn't even a member of the forums, in the meet movie?
Think I'll lock this for now.
