Chris Sawyer has posted a detailed Q&A about the origins and development of Transport Tycoon on www.transporttycoon.com. It's very interesting indeed. He's also posted screenshots, a video and even some source code from "Chris's Transport Game", the demo that became TT. Worth a look!
