OpenTTD 1.3.3-RC1
Lo and behold, a new release of OpenTTD is ahead and as usual we start with a first release candidate for it. Here comes OpenTTD 1.3.3-RC1.
This version took a bit longer than planned to be done, but it ships with a long list of fixes (see this changelog). Most notably the handling
of text input and display, drawing and layout text strings got improved, and a lot of long-standing bugs in OSX got fixed.
This is a lot of things which were changed, thus it needs sound testing. Have fun playing (and testing) this new release candidate and please
tell us, if you encounter any oddities or bugs.
Enjoy,
Your OpenTTD team

I was already expecting it, I saw a lot of backports from trunk the last few days, so congrats on another new version.

Now working
Yeah, 1.3.3-RC1 works on my old W2k gaming computer - the first version since 1.3.1 final. I hope 1.3.3 final will also do so.

Re: OpenTTD 1.3.3-RC1
What nightly version is the 1.3.3 RC1 based on?
I used the nightlies before and can't load my save games with the RC1 - it's telling me that my save games where from "a newer version"?

Re: OpenTTD 1.3.3-RC1
Probably on a nightly from a year ago or something, just before the first testing release of 1.3.0, with fixes from recent nightlies backported. If you keep playing with the nightly version you have, you can probably load it in the first testing release of 1.4.Boris Bojic wrote:What nightly version is the 1.3.3 RC1 based on?

Erm, no - I always use the latest available nightly, currently it's r26030Transportman wrote:Probably on a nightly from a year ago or something, just before the first testing release of 1.3.0, with fixes from recent nightlies backported. If you use nightly versions, you usually cannot load them in the release versions which are based on a trunk version around January.Boris Bojic wrote:Erm, no - I always use the latest available nightly, currently it's r26030Transportman wrote:Probably on a nightly from a year ago or something, just before the first testing release of 1.3.0, with fixes from recent nightlies backported. Re: OpenTTD 1.3.3-RC1
Ok, thanks. I'll stick to the nightlys
Re: OpenTTD 1.3.3-RC1
1.3.3 seems to have a lot of fixes for OS X - does this mean upcoming official support for latest versions of OS X? (Mavericks in particular)
Re: OpenTTD 1.3.3-RC1
no, because there still is no active developer for OSX
Re: OpenTTD 1.3.3-RC1
Hopefully this release would make the way to 1.4.x (or anything with -cd) much more easier

So...who did the impressive pile of fixes for longstanding OSX bugs? And why?Eddi wrote:no, because there still is no active developer for OSX

Re: OpenTTD 1.3.3-RC1
There is no need for a Mavericks Version - it works just fine on it ...
Re: OpenTTD 1.3.3-RC1
I had several crashes on Mountain Lion with 1.2.x builds + enormous CPU usage (50-75%). All that on retina 13'' MacBook.Boris Bojic wrote:There is no need for a Mavericks Version - it works just fine on it ...
I will try latest RC and hope for the better (I'm now on Mavericks).
