OpenTTD 1.3.0

Post by frosch »

The first quarter of 2013 is over, so it's time for the first release of the 1.3 series. If you are tired of hopping around and hiding chocolate eggs everywhere, this might be your chance to relax with building some tracks.

On the download page you will also find the complete change log, listing all features, changes and fixes since 1.2.3. If you haven't followed the beta and RC stages, you should take a look at the new game scripts and NewGRF via the in-game content download, which become available when using 1.3.0.

Thanks to all testers involved during the alpha and beta. If you didn't help testing, and now find a bug... well, I guess you are still allowed to report it to our bug tracker :)

Have Fun and Good Game!

Oh, release candidates (1.2.0-RC4) are considered major releases as well?

Is it OK to upgrade from 1.3.0-RC3 simply by running the 1.30 installer (on a Win32 system), then checking if online content needs upgrading too?

hi

newbie here.
i am still using the 1.1.5 version of OTTD on my macbook.
i saw that there is already 1.3.0 (whew)
should i just delete the old one after saving my old saved games? or is there any way to auto update?
sorry for the newbie question.
good day

Should auto-update in the install.

So no, you don't need to remove your old install.

@47407 - thanks for that. i tried doing that, but it still said 1.1.5. i experimented by removing the whole folder of OTTD 1.1.5 and moving it to trash (which i plan to put back if it didnt work). i installed the new one. and it worked. my old save files are even still there. saw the outline of the industries, which i never saw from the old one, even if i updated it many times. btw, the update is the click online content? or a different one?
anyway, it worked out fine for me. now back to starting from scratch again.
thanks all.

Savegames and newgrfs are kept in a different location (I could tell you for windows but for a mac I have no idea).
The change in industry graphics could be to do with OpenGFX
