problem with PBS
hey there,
i seem to have a problem with the PBs and signals and all that.
i have set it to automaticaly convert signals to pre-signals for station entrances, but they dont automaticaly convert.
here is a screenshot:
http://nosepad.futurehost.org/ttd/SCR4.PCX
<br>
http://nosepad.futurehost.org/ttd/SCR1.PCX
as you can see they dont convert and the light shows up as green when there is no free spaces so trains go in and block the track.
(this example is a RiRo station, but in normal stations this is a problem.
Can someone help me please.
Thanks
Rich

Re: problem with PBS
Hi, you have to change at least one signal in each block to a presignal, then the others automagically change too, after a train has passed that block.
Double signals also change, and since they are double signals that work in two directions, the block on the other side of those double signals also gets changed as well.

Re: problem with PBS
Do you have the latest base.grf file installed, or in case you use an older TTDPatch version, all the .grf files that are needed ?
If not you won't see the difference, although the signals should work as presignals nevertheless.
If you have the needed .grfs then I guess it's time to ask what version of the patch you are using, and to post your ttdpatch.cfg file here.
In there you have to enable the auto conversion, and it has to be supported by your TTDPatch version of course.
WITH!!!!! the older versions you have to build the signal first, then "rebuild" it while holding the CTRL-key it then rotates through all types of signals.

Re: problem with PBS
That Patch version should be OK.
You have pathbasedsignalling.autoconvertpresig=on which also is OK
Turn miscmods2.nonewsignalsiggui=on to off, which will give you the new signal gui that pops in which you can select signal types by clicking the desired icon. It's also required for some types of signals.
It's best described here.

Re: problem with PBS
oh yea, now it works, only thing is it still doesnt work on the pre-made maps.
like the west country and ones like that.
it only seems to work when u generate a new map or if u just clikc new game.
Is there a way to fix it so u can play it on a pre-made map or do we just have to live without it?
Thanks

Re: problem with PBS
No sure if this is related to that : saveoptionaldata=off, turn it on.
In the manual it is recommended to be turned on.
In my opinion you have to much turned off in your config as it is, maybe you should browse through the manual a bit to see what all the switches do.
