Seeing company vehicles in drop-down lists

Post by marvinblue »

Hi all! Recently I downloaded some new graphics from George's site, including the recent updates to the new vehicles. I started a new game and was running for a couple of hours and some of my buses needed replacing. I hit the vehicle list and hey, presto! they were there. I quit out of the game, went back to it later and the vehicle graphics had disappeared from the list and haven't come back again. They are all enabled in my new graphics menu, the game is being run in the alpine climate. I'm running TTD on XP and it has TTD patch 2.6 alpha 0 r1790. It just doesn't seem to be happening! Can anyone help?

Thanks!

Can anyone help? It's most frustrating when you can't find your vehicles.

What happens if you click on "apply" in the GRF Status window?

Nothing. All of the sets are working fine, its just the list that is blank. Among other things, I have all the ECS files in there. The only one of them that is conflicted says the vehicles have to drive on the right instead of the left. Also, the Scania long vehicles set is conflicted with a sprite problem, but I don't think that's the cause. I did have the vehicles in the lists one day, saved the game, quit out, went back later and they wouldn't return. I suppose the only other thing I can do is disable all the new graphics and enable them one at a time to see what the problem is.

Originally it was TTDX Configurator.exe then, as I found entries to stuff here and in the TTD wiki pages, I manually added them in with Wordpad.

I just downloaded ttdpc.exe from the TTD patch site, ran it and set sortvehlist to the default of 10. Ran my saved game and that didn't help. Created a new game and got a bus running and that didn't show up either.

Ok ... probably time for a new run of the tool as there may be other switches you are missing. TTDX Configurator is ok but my preference is TTDPC available here. Look for Ttdpc1120.zip near the bottom of the first post. Make a new folder within your TTDX's folder (I called mine TTDPC  ) and extract the files into that new folder. Then just run the exe and it should find your current cfg. It should also add in any switches that your TTDPatch version needs if they are not in your current cfg.

There is a little search box at the bottom right. You can use it to quickly find sortvehlist. When you find it set the value to 10 and then save the file.

Dang you're good! You found it before I finished typing my post suggesting that you get it.

Ok ... bottom right of your Vehicle list window ... what does it say?
