OTTD tournament!!

Post by Luukland »

And here it is!! After a lot of requests, i have prepeared a OTTD tournament!!

- I am searching for: exactly 64 contestants, who like to play the OTTD tournament

The tournament is divided into 3 rounds and 1 final round

The tournament will be played with OTTD 0.5.2

In every round 4 players will get promoted to the next round, and 4 players will be kicked out of the tounament.

It promisses to be a "grand spectacle".

So if you are interested: and would like to sign in, or get some more information go to: http://www.freewebs.com/luukland/index.htm

Of course you can ask questions in this topic, and tips are also welcome!!

Well first of all:

- I need 64 players

Second:

- In the signing in process you have to give the times that you are able to play. So that i can place everyone in a good poule, so that he or she can be online

I hope to have 64 players in 10 days :P

Just a thought to your rules:

Server rules 4+5:
Why not just take into account the achievement of the company,
regardless of presence of the player?
The chance he will get good scores is lower anyway...

How will you determine which company won? Coopetition (which is somewhat on hold atm) uses some weird calculation to determine who is best, but that is all based on trains.
Don't panic - My YouTube channel - Follow me on twitter (@XeryusTC) - Play Tribes: Ascend - Tired of Dropbox? Try SpiderOak (use this link and we both get 1GB extra space)

Correct, I just use the company value's. So if someones company has 1.000.000 and is 2nd. And the other has 500.000 and is 1st. Then the one with 1.000.000 will win :).

Good point anyway.

--- And Frostregen ---

-- I made those rules, to be sure everyone, is playing together :P. Or else everyone parts the game at some point. And never comes back. And only 5 years playing, is not much!!

The tournament servers will be online probably next week, to practice of course. And to learn/deal with the rules.

Then you can get every information you want :)

why aren't spectators allowed in the first rounds? All games should be "public viewing" ;)

too many people wanting to watch?

btw. what kind of connection will the game be hosted on?
you might want to make sure you will not run into bandwidth or traffic issues :-)

First of all: Coming 2 weeks i will test my server onto traffic problems, but with an 20MBIT connection i do not think serieus trubble will occure.

Because of the traffic problems, i have disabled the spectator possibility "for now"

Maybe after testing, i will enable it :)
