I saw a half price, brand new Force FX lightsaber in Woolworth today, during my lunch. I kno wthat Helen's wanted one for a long time, but I didn't want to spend nearly £50 on one without consulting her. I rang her up, but she was out of the office. Her boss told me to buy it. Below is Helen, triumphantly waving it about! Big grins all round.

It might look fake, but honestly, the only editing I did was resizing the image. It's really, really blue!

It takes three AAs. We have a supply of rechargeables (many battery powered gadgets, you see). (hur hur).

Helen would have snarled, etc, but she was so chuffed to bits that the smile was pretty much there to stay.

It has single handed balance, the balance point being just a notch behind the blade, in the hilt. Perhaps realistic for a light saber (should one ever be invented) but a trifle light for anybody used to a steel sword. It feels extremely comfortable to wave around.
