That's right, the time has come for a release, finally!
I'm sorry it took so long, but first I had to wait for someone to draw the sprites, then I had to learn more about GRFMaker, then I had to find someone to do the articulated vehicles (tenders), then I went on holiday twice, then I realised I still didn't know how to do loading anims for wagons...and etc.
But now Beta 1 is here, and it needs your comments!

Known Issues
=There are no cargo wagons, I don't know how to do the whole loading thing (help on doing it in GRFMaker would be greatly appreciated)
=There may be some alignment problems I haven't noticed
=At the moment, there are still original TTD vehicles showing as well, this is partly because they fill in where there are no vehicles in the set, partly because they will eventually be overwritten by other set vehicles, and partly because I don't know how to get rid of them without haxing GRFMaker :P
=And more I probably don't know about!

So sit back, relax, and start your bugtesting! :D

P.S. I recommend you use the latest beta/nightly for these, although they have no explicit version requirement yet.

[edit] Some bugs fixed.
[edit] Fixed some bugs that the previous bugfix created. God, I'm beginning to sound like Microsoft...

Odd, it doesn't on my computer. Let me do some checking...
[edit] Ah, fixing those bugs only made more bugs that I forgot to fix... download an updated version in about 10 minutes...

Well, I'm lacking any real data as to how fast the engines should be going, how powerful they are, how much they cost etc. :(

I agree with m3henry that the speed is a bit slow. Try having it at maybe 60 MPH.

Also, Edward seems to change colors with the company colors.

Or that callback 2D wasn't used.

Hmm, I thought there might be a problem like this, i'll have to convert the action colours on the affected engines to normal colours. (Oh, the virtues of GRFMaker!)

Some twit probably did... but the general consensus was to make sure they weren't recolourable in-game.

Which I can do now.
Expect a fix sometime in the next few hours, but I have to go out in a bit so not right away.

--Update--

I've been on holiday since I last posted here, so not much progress in the last week or so, but now I'm back at school, I should have some more time to try and get some more stuff done...

This is nifteh!

Testing with OTTD MiniIN (the, uh, latest one, I think. *scratches head*) they seem to work nicely. Though on the train stats in the depot the cost is only a couple thousand for all the boys, except Daisy, who is 116,000! And all have a "max tractive force" of 1 ton, compared to the Jubilee and A4, who have their standard force stated. That doesn't seem to affect the speed, though I've only gone with small passenger lines so far.

I really like this! Pity there aren't more vehicles in the show, fancy monorails and maglevs and such. I imagine they'd have a bit of trouble modelling maglevs! (though... damn that would be nifteh) My little brother would love this set. :D

the problem is we dont have any real stats for the locos. We are going to use the real stats for what we can. Jonty this is another ask, but do you think we should do a realistic price version and a play price version, this could be a parameter once you learn them. Can all this dev discusion be moved to the dev thread please. It doesnt have to be split, just new talk can go in there.

Yes, I'm not sure what's causing that. :?
I'm guessing that the smoke amination plays at a specific x,y coordinate, seeing as I never put one in. :) So that means I'll have to move the engine sprite forward/backward or something...

Yes, you have.
For some reason you have an exclamation character at the start of one of your lines in your newgrfw.cfg

Please attach it here so we can fix it.
