Purchase Window Refit Information Patch
I have often found it annoying that the purchase window doesn't show the possible refit options for each vehicle. This patch adds this feature and also fixes a bug where text can sometimes overflow the bottom of the list (e.g. the UKRS Pendolino).
The refit options are displayed in the same format as in TTDPatch and are also displayed in the vehicle replace window.
The screenshot shows an example using Pikabird's UKRS.
Edit: win32 exe added
Edit: patch updated to r5434 30/06/06

Some more example purchase lists showing the US Train Set, Grigory's Russian Planes and Michael Blunck's Newships and also, now that OTTD supports refittable road vehicles, George's Long Vehicles.

I hooked up my accelerator to my brake lights. I hit the gas, people behind me stop, and I'm gone.
Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car. Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far you take the wall with you. Spoilers and bodykits are how much of the wall you take with you. Rollcages and windownets are how much of a mess you leave on the wall.

The strings "Suitable for" and "Special features" are part of the UKRS grf. They are currently only in English. It is possible to add translations for grf texts but this would be an update of the grf file. Perhaps you should talk to Pikabird about this.MeusH wrote:Seems like "Suitable for" and "Special features" are not in english.txt.
Are these parts of newgrf, so these will remain untranslated in other languages?

A suggestion: How about if OpenTTD would recognize commonly used strings in newgrf files and then would get translations for them from the lang-files?mart3p wrote:The strings "Suitable for" and "Special features" are part of the UKRS grf. Thanks MeusH
The patch has now had 2 months testing in the MiniIN with no reported problems. As far as I’m concerned it’s finished and (unlike some of my patches) it doesn‘t have any nasty hacks.
I would like to see it in the trunk, I guess it just needs a dev to take an interest. Maybe I should post it on Flyspray...

I'm very pleased to announce that peter1138 has added my Purchase List Refit Options patch to the trunk.
Once again peter1138 has made a few improvements, but happily he hasn't had to hack the code about to the extent that was required in my previous patches.
This feature will be available in tomorrows nightly build. Thanks yet again peter1138.
