It looks like the dbsetxlw is working better the the new release, but i don't have the german names for the wagons like i saw in some screenshots. They are still in english.
And i noticed that in some dialogue windows the text is printed outside the window into the scenery. Is this already reported as a bug? Many german words are longer than the english ones. Either they have to be abbreviated or the windows must be made wider.
German names for wagons & text outside dialogues

Don't know about the wagons, perhaps a screenshot? And how they are supposed to look (were those screenshots from TTDPatch?).
The strings are a common problem where texts in a translation are a bit too long. Usually they should be retranslated to something shorter; that's why translation is such a hard job. If it is truly impossible notify us and it'll be considered to enlarge the window.

ok, maybe it was a TTDPatch screenshot. I just found OpenTTD yesterday and went back and forth through tons of information.
UPDATE: I changed from the dbsetxl to the standard set and now the names are german. Well, most of them. Before it was a bit strange to have passenger cars in the list that looked like livestock wagons.
IIRC it was the train buy dialogue where the text overflow was. I have to check it again if i came across it again. I saw this in the previous version of OpenTTD.
Can't all windows made be resizable vertically by default? Some can't be dragged in both directions with the handle in the corner.
Another GUI issue: Can the buttons that open new windows function like toggles, so that a second click closes a open window?
If you need help with the translation, let me know.

Just for the records, the DB Set (both v0.5 and XL) provides english, german, french and spanish texts. But as peter1138 already pointed out, OTTD only supports english texts. Which is kind of weird (and inpolite) IMO.
Just for the records_2: TTDPatch not only supports those four main languages for .grfs since its beginning, but in its latest alphas supports any language.
regards
Michael
