I have it, but don't want to discuss about it. There's a Traffic Giant Forum...

I think it gets pretty boring after a while.

Well what about Simutrans then? I've done some work on this game, it's quite good.

My standard answer to that is: "I haven't tested the latest build" :)

I like the consept, but it's still too dull.

i even have a non-related story about it
so here i go off-topic, try and stop me...

once upon a time long ago, i downloaded the traffic giant demo
(in my download folder, as always)
i installed and tried it for a couple of minutes
didn't like it and un-installed it
good
then sometime after i downloaded other stuff
it's the seti project download, i put in the same folder
as i tried to install it, installation went great, but i didn't find the seti folder or program, i looked everywhere
but there was traffic giant demo again

so the setup of seti ran the installation of TG ??
then i removed the TG demo and seti installed ok
strange things can happen if you let old stuff lay around in your folders
Well, back to work, lot's of it in the near future

I've had strange things like that happen before. Like the other day I shared a cd drive and accessed it on anther computer. And for some reason when I ran setup.exe it opened Yuri's Revenge. No idea why. Never did get it too work. lol

I did play Simutrans just yesterday. TTDLX is crashing under XP after like an hour, so I did fire up version 80 of Simutrans. After building some stations and making some money, here comes competition. And guess what. All the material is stored now in his stations and my trains is waiting for raw material to be delivered or to be harvested.

Example: forest station had always around 350 pc of wood. When the AI start from the same forest, I got 0 and he got over 1000! And the autor was claiming on German forum, that his game is already better then TTDLX!? Pch.

This may sound a bit stupid, but did you set up a route and let a train (or road vehicle) go there?

EDIT: Oh yes, you said you did. Try e-mailing the Simutrans mailing list.

does he always do that, so after an hour he crashes, then you can play another hour, etc..
this seems a reasonable time limit
perhaps your parents set this up so you wouldn't get addicted

in dutch we have a saying: 'hoogmoed komt voor de val'
i dunno the correct english for this, but such claims are rubbish
it's like saying duke3d is better than doom or unreal is better than half-life
all games have their own good/bad things and for some reason people like one game better than another
(ps. Pch means patch i hope)

This will be very difficult, my parents are dead and I'm proud father of two, 22 and 25 years old kids. So, I'm old fart.

I do not like the crashing, because I am lazy b****** who never save enough and then I had to start again, the same tedious work of laying tracks.

Nope! More close to ... Use you own imagination.

@Owen

Look, I do not want to put this guy down, I do appreciate his work. But, please do not claim this is better then TTDLX! It is NOT! Period. End of the discussion, because non of them (and so many tried) and no company till today can claim that.

Um... I never said it was better than TTD. It is not. TTD is the best transport game in the world. What I was saying was that I had done some work on it, and it's quite good, but not better than TTD.

Owen, I didn't mean you personaly in the previous post. I ment that guy who set is better! More like this will go for everybody with similar claims.

Hmm, I thought this will give a problem, but it was already so late and I was to lazy to edit.
Sorry!

Thanks for helping to clean up this matter. I do admire everybody who is able to do work like this (Simutran etc.). But, always BUT, most of the copies never even touch the complexity and sheer fun of Chris game.

Question. Did anybody saw the new RCT 2? A lot more graphical improvement? Because, if he decide to do TTD 2 he may (and I think he will) use all of the previous work for the new game, same like he did it with his first RCT.
