At that time i was building a rail station i think, or i was putting a sign under the Big fat expensive tunnel signtmesisbob wrote:It just died I was running a dedicated server, it gave me the 'something has gone really wrong' message, but not assertion errors of line numbers. All i know is that i was trying to build a bus station. Oh well, lets hope a more stable version comes out soon.
Can you please host the same savegame again? I was in the lead

It doesn't, i guess because you have a router. All OpenTTD games are on this list: http://www.hesslow.se/emil/openttd/
You can only join those you can click on

my ip is also on that list, and i have a router, but i thought that maybe with a no-ip.com thing it would workZooz wrote:It doesn't, i guess because you have a router. All OpenTTD games are on this list: http://www.hesslow.se/emil/openttd/

I's like to set up a server some time...The only thing i'll have to so is open the port in my router and start a game...
So, if anyone is interested, I've got a pretty decent upstream (320 kbps), and am most of the time online
-edit- I just need to find out how it works to host a game etcetera

my server is running again.
but you should use the updated version of the code.
Unfortunatly the nightly didn't work, so get the updated version from here:
ftp://hackykid.homeip.net:2121/OTTD_svnrev1038.zip
this should fix a number of the desyncs...
server is listed at:

Ok guys, once all is good with regards the update, tonights game will resume tomorrow at around 5:30 PM (GMT). I would start earlier but i have work.
Hopefully the server crashes will be resolved by then, and we can continue with the game.
Ooo, btw I have set up one of those no-ip things, my address should be jaffasquirrel.no-ip.info. My ip on http://www.hesslow.se/emil/openttd/ is subject to change lots of course.
Good note: The server is currently SVN 1038.

Tow whoever maintains http://www.hesslow.se/emil/openttd/:
You could probably add thorrune.no-ip.com too. It's my laptop, and i might make games on that sometime when i'm there. Also thorrune3.no-ip.com posibilly will be at school, but i am not sure if that works, i don't know if the router allows it... You could probably add it anyways.

Alcohol is not the answer, it just makes you forget the question.

I maybe able to use one of our spare hosting servers for a dedicated server, however ill need some details such as:
* Bandiwidth per client (I remember somone saying this is small, but we do have a limit on the intl bandwidth)
* Has anyone got a quick way of doing a dedicated server system, eg.
run server
server crashed, restart server
server crashed, restart server
It would need the ablity to avoid nasty messages from stopping it from restarting. (it will be linux based, so I assume it should be fine)
Also is there a way of running multiple games from one server? eg. so someone can login and start a game that other people could join. (without having to have the connection to the internet)
