1) Version 3.0 changes

- The population increased from 4.5 to over 6 million!
- Almost all major towns and areas got updated and some are completely overhauled.
- Dramatic increase in the level of detail all around the map.
- Lots of new minor settlements, including local 'estates' which consist of a few houses surrounded by plantations.
- A new way of representing (yacht) harbours using channels.
- Since a recent patch we were allowed to place: lighthouses!
- Border crossings between countries are now mapped with signs.

(Note: some of the pictures in this post were altered in photoshop)

2) Introduction

Cindini is a map project which is almost 5 years in the making. It features a highly detailed continent with a 'world' population of over 6 million.

Countries of Cindini:
- Impiriata | the most populous country, famous for it's popular coastal towns, historic cities and native herritage.
- Rutanio | a communistic state largely untouched by tourism or globalization except for recent chinese investments.
- Sinzia freestate | a large independant city state that is now the economic powerhouse of the continent.
- Antia | a country well known for it's natural splendours offering dramatic landscapes and superb wildlife watching
- Murica Isle | a holiday hotspot with picture-perfect beaches, world-class diving and dutch colonial herritage.
- Merlin Islands | a wealthy archipel and a surfer's paradise part of the british common wealth.
- Souh Ronia | the island of sins boosting the continent's largest selection of casino's and strip clubs.
- The Ronian Republic | Cindini's own little 'banana' republic where time stood still for hundreds of years.
- Les Dianos | an archipel of four small laid-back islands just off the coast of Antia.

It is advised to use a patch or mod to disable the industry closures that will otherwise occur when starting the map. A suggested patch for this is: "manual industries" http://grfcrawler.tt-forums.net/details ... ils&id=244

Some of the trees will slowly disappear in the smaller parks and green strokes. Therefor it would also be possible to use a patch or mod where you can disable tree growth. A suggested patch for this would be: http://bugs.openttd.org/task/1605

You can also find the map on BaNaNaS now!

 I... uh... *picks jaw up off floor*
I'm totally blown away by those pictures, way more so than the last batch of epic Cindini shots; they take OTTD screenshots to an entirely new level! (Or since they're Photoshopped, should I say "layer"?) Man, if only we could get some of those beach tiles as NewObjects... I may have to look into that.

I don't know how much time you've spent on this, but it is an absolutely fantastic work of art! 8)

Amazing Stuff !!

I am not sure if it is intentional or not but there appear to be several rivers on the map that were never flooded. Of particular interest is the one that "flows" through Conterato. Always an option for the player to remove the obstructions and let them flood in the scenario editor.

"A real whopper there!"
I'd recommend adding it to BaNaNaS, it appears none of the previous versions were ever uploaded.

Thanx for the tip ober, I added it to Bananas.

@NiteOwl: this is intentional.... dried-up rivers can be found in some major desert areas, and as you mentioned a player can easely flood them again :)

Thank you very much for this wonderfull map! :P 8)
It gives a lot of challenges of making a good transport system without destroying the cities, but thats what makes it so fun to play!

There are so many different ways you can play this map, and I really like that it comes with detailed descriptions of each area!
With version 2.0 I played this map with CargoDist and IS, and made one company for each country. That was very fun, and Im sure I will do this with the new map too :D

I think it could be very cool to have a FIRS version of this map. That would make it even better. If I had some more experience with FIRS, I might have done it, but I have only played very few times with FIRS. :|

Nice to hear that you are playing along with the 'story' :D . Would love to see some screenshots of each different country with it's own transport company when you're done!

I will post some screenshots later on :)

I want to start a new Cindini 3.0 game, but right now I'm waiting for Chills Patchpack and the 2CC set to be updated. So untill then I get some ideas for transport systems by just watching the map in the editor. :)

I am loving this scenario, but one bad thing, it keeps closing the industries and building new ones when it really doesn't fit (like on city beaches and so on).

Is there a way to prevent that?

You can download a GRF called Manual Industries (don't remember if it's on Bananas, GRF Crawler or somewhere else).
This GRF do not allow opening and closing of industries, and was actually a recommended in the 2.0 release of Cindini. :)

A question for Whopper:
What version did you use to make the updating from 2.0 to 3.0 ?
I ask this question because at the moment it's not possible to use the 3.0 version with Chills Patchpack. This is because the patchpack is using a rather old trunk version.
So I ask you if you have an older Cindini scenario file (between you 2.0 and 3.0 versions) that can work with the patchpack?
Of cause I could just use the 2.0 version, but the 3.0 version are improoved in many areas, and it looks so much better :)

Hej Jimbo,

Srry for the late reply .....
I got 'an' older version but I'm not quite sure what version I edited it with.
You can download it here: http://clicktwice.org/personal/Cindini% ... %203.0.scn

Hope for you it works :)

With the new release on the horizon I plan to do another (small) update (3.01).
Rivers now look 'ok' in the release candidate without the use of new graphics(previously they were just plain water tiles) so I tried adding some watercurrents.
The update will also give a facelift to a couple of cities that I forgot to do in the last release:
Image

@Joster: added the links to recommended mods to the main post. (> downloads)

NOTE: If you see any area's that you think need some extra attention please do mention them!

Thank you for posting the older version. :)

Sadly it doen't work with the patchpack :(
But thanks anyway!

I haven't spotted any areas that dont look good :D

Maybe you could add some more desriptions of the other countries as well in this thread, like you did with Antia?
If you post more fantastic screenshots, maybe you will get more downloads :P

Hej Jimbow,

Thanx for the tip, I was planning on doing that :) ... but it's quite a lot of work so it takes a little more time then expected.

But will be adding new descriptions + shots in the near future!

Because I changed some personal domains I try to update the original post to fix the image URL's, strangely enough I don't see the 'edit' button on the previous posts anymore.

Is there a new policy on changing posts? (can't edit them if they are older then X months)

UPDATE: ... already found the topic but thanx for posting Jor!

With Open TTD version 1.2 released I also would like to release a new version of the map. You can find this version now on Bananas.

Version 3.001 changes

- Great update on industrial areas around the cities, I now allow multiple industries per town.
- A few towns that were unchanged in 3.0 now got a facelift as well (in particular: Accerbol ,Tripolia, Janioci and Cindaria)
- Now using 'river' tiles in more areas. (Tourists can now visit the Rangara Falls near Mia Martinez)
