Another pic of a farm busy farm station. And an OT question, if that's ok: Are ro-ro stations completely unrealistic? I like realistic layouts partially because they're usually also attractive in my opinion, but I don't think this station is particularly ugly either. But it seems like it wouldn't be realistic.

In my opinion it depends how are You able to fit station into Your network. Ill post some of mine into my thread, have a look! Not sure how 'realistic' they are!?

Thanks for answering my question! I think your stations look very nice *because* they are so big. The small loops of my stations are I think what seems to defy reality. Perhaps if I stick with depots to make those stations ro-ros like pic#1. And you are right :) it is about MY game and how I want it to look. :) :) :) Thank you!

Another revision of my factory station from above. Still trying to work out the most efficient layout for the 3-track entrance/junction.

And a revision of HEBF a la ISA.

"A million dollar project" - this aqueduct is a bit strange.

I thought so too. The hill was too close to the lake to build two lockes at first. But I didn't like it, so I have since changed it. Does it look as odd now?

Of course.. I hope I did it right?

This is not an epic savegame. But it's little and fun and I like it.

A small fleet of Schooners replaces one aged Clipper as no other ships are available at this time. Ding-ding! Unfortunately nothing is available to replace my old Coal Clippers. :(

Edit: Just realized why I don't have new ships... FISH is missing from my grf list!!!! Whoops!

A quick pic from a recent game. I'm jumping from game to game lately. Sorry for the randomness. I'll try to develop a story soon because that's what I like to read.

I started playing again the last few days after quite a long hiatus, and I grabbed a couple of random screenshots that I felt were fun. Not sure if I'm ready to try a story again, and I can't pick up from the last since my old computer fried  . The first is of a failed attempt to build a winding road up a mountain to make the trek faster for my little Wright's Hopper Steam Trucks carrying coal being shipped in for the power plant. After several time-trials the more direct route was the fastest, despite the intense speed reduction on the inclines. :? Of course realistic rv acceleration is on, and I'm using eGRVTS, but avoiding the 0hp carriages. The second is just of a little steel station with tons of flyovers... um, and that's all that is exciting about it. lol. I guess I just liked watching the trains especially since it's been so long since I played.

As an aside.. does anyone know about the pathfinding behavior of rv's? Specifically, my trucks seemed to automatically choose the faster route in terms of seconds to immediate destination (even when I really wanted them to choose the pretty winding road I built!) and I went through the process of timing each route to be sure they were correct in their choice. Were the trials necessary? Does the game choose the best route even accounting for slowdowns on slopes and curves, etc.? I guess I'm expecting it to choose the least number of tiles over actual speed.

AFAIK RV's tend to use the road that has the fewest bends in them.
If you want them to use the scenic route, build a drive thru roadstop somewhere on that route and give the order "Non-stop Via" in your orderlist. It will force them to take the route with that stop, without them (un)loading there.

Henry Rollins: Listen to the stage manager and get on stage when they tell you to. No one has time for the rock star bulls***. None of the techs backstage care if you're David Bowie or the milkman. When you act like a jerk, they're completely unimpressed with the infantile display that you might think comes with you're dubious status. They were there hours before you building the stage, and they will be there hours after you tearing it down. They should get your salary and you should get theirs.

the pathfinder gives each route a number and adds up for signals, bends, max speed, tunnels, bridges etc... , the route with the lowest number gets chosen
