I feel terribly sorry to you guys (particularly to Lord Aro and maquinista) for vanishing from the community because I thought my work was done and got busy for my career. I don't know if it's too late, but since I've never stated the license of my vfx animation works, I hereby authorize Lord Aro ("in case" Aro is inactive for 1 week, the right will be shared by maquinista automatically) to release all of my vfx works for OTTD under the license which is in the best interest to the community, either Public Domain, GPL or Creative Commons is fine.

http://wiki.openttd.org/Image:Ottd_vfx.JPEG

P.S. The wiki software of OTTD Wiki seems to be outdated and is recommended to get the update from Mediawiki.org .
System refuses to display the signature because it is too cool.

Hello every one , i am very new to this and i want to be able to offer some of my work for the 32bpp project , Today's offering is some BR ore/mineral wagons a lomac and a small flat car.
it is my intention to do a load of various UK wagons ( also for scenic object for another game a mod for.) They only have a basic skin so far as i have not read up on how the colours need to be set up yet in regard to CC.
I have only just started to look into how to do them for ottd. But i am quite happy to make the models and give them to others to integrate into the game.

Image

as i said the models ans skins are not 100%.

thanks Nishma

Nice. At this moment there are some wagons modeled by Ben Robbins, but You can release your own wagons, and We can try to convert them in a new GRF file.
Also, You can create them as monorail wagons.

I guess this is the correct place to post this.

I have created a replacement for the SH125, works with both the Extra Zoom branch (where it is at it's best) and with the current trunk.

The attachment is a ready to go tar file.

(I tried to upload the sources [.blend, textures and scripts] but the file it too big 7.1Mb)

If someone can tell me where to upload the sources then you are free to use it as you will.

nice!

you can upload the files here: http://jupix.info/openttd/gfxdev-repo/

just a few suggestions:

moar detail! :D if you look at the passenger wagons, they have much more detail than your train

(still awesome though, trains are needed :) )

It's the first time that I have ever created any graphics or used Blender.

This is what I based it on, an Intercity 125

Below are a couple of angles of the full model before it was scaled for OTTD.

But not really sure what more detail can be put into it that will actually be seen when scaled down?

I will try that link for uploading the sources.

Ok, I managed to post the actual sprite tar file there, just like in this thread but it fails to accept the sources :(

So, here's my replacement for the UU37.

Have also uploaded the sources etc. to the repository.

This is the real life loco that the model is based on.

Have you ever thought of modelling UK liveried trains for a British Rail set?

Thanks, glad you like them. :)

Can't say I've given it any thought, I'm not an artist and have never done anything like this before these 2 models. My main thoughts have just been to get some better looking trains for the ones that are missing in the extra zoom graphics (and hope that the OTTD trunk adopts reading these at some point). I like the extra zoom and extra zoom graphics due to being colour blind, it helps a huge amount, even if the graphics scale is a bit "stubby" (but it is a game and not a sim :P). I'm currently working on the next 2 replacements, the SH30 and SH40, but they will have to wait until after the weekend now.

Doing the graphics has been quite fun, but setting the offsets really puts me off a little, it really should be less taxing :)
