Yeah, you're right, I'm sorry about the description :)

I tried both the "latest" 0.5.0 at http://bundles.openttdcoop.org/firs/releases/0.5.0/ and r1473 at http://bundles.openttdcoop.org/firs/nightlies/r1473/

In both versions forge accepts only coal and stone.

Heh, too bad I only realized the bug after I had built a massive railroad from forest to forge...

Thank you for the quick fix!

By the way - how do you transport fish? I tried taking a shortcut and built a train station near fishing grounds but now I think that first I need to find a way to transport the fish from the fishing grounds to the station :)

But I don't have any ships that can take fish. I already tried looking for a proper grf-file at http://bananas.openttd.org/en/newgrf/ but couldn't find any new ships for fishes. There is a ship set called FISH, but I don't think the name has actually anything to do with transporting fishes...

Use FISH :) You're right - the name has no connection - but most of the ships will refit to carry Fish cargo.

Due to a limitation in current OpenTTD, you can also go fishing by helicopter....but that's dumb :)

Gotcha, I'll use FISH.

And sorry for asking stupid questions (and not trying the FISH-set before asking...) but now that I'm getting the hang of things I'm really starting to enjoy FIRS. It's like a new game :)

andythenorth: I could also help out with a finnish translation if you'll provide me with some instructions?

This is the English language file for FIRS. Translations are welcome - just replace the strings in this file with localised versions, then post it back here.

It's worth to mention that English, Spanish, German and Polish translations are (mostly) existant.

This industry might close unless any cargo is delivered within:\0D\90 \UE07C months"
Would this not read better as: This industry might close if no cargo is delivered within:\0D\90 \UE07C months
#define TEXT_INFO_WHOLESALEMARKET "\98Sells products to food & beverage and hospitality businesses.\0D"
perhaps : Sells products to food, beverage and hospitality businesses
#define TEXT_INFO_FORGE "\98Produce forged metal items like wrought iron gates, tools, ploughs, shovels and horseshoes.\0D"
Should be Produces not produce

Hope this is useful and not too picky

Translation to czech revision (1.0) is attached.
I did modifications to the descriptions during translation in order to make them understandable for people (i hope it's only good).
For example i changed Clay Pit to Clay Surface Mine (line 139)
Or Lumberyard description from Produces items such as poles and fence posts. to Processes wood for building purposes. (line 280). This is i think the biggest change i made.

I didn't translate line 288 with credits.

EDIT : Sorry to all who i bugged on IRC during translation :)

Note the screenshot.
Station has in range Builders yard and Lime Kiln (by appearance and cargo acceptance in the station) but after clicking on supposed Lime Kiln you can see it's Forge.

FIRS 0.5.2 fixes this. It might not change for industries that are already built though :o

The only option is to demolish them (magic bulldozer cheat) and rebuild them :(

I see. I found another on other place of the map. Again Lime Kiln was in the town. Only those outside of the town are working fine for me.

When adapting the DBXL FIRS extension, I ran a short test with FIRS, and, besides the somewhat "quirky" industry model, I noticed some bugs in the German translation:

Tonminerale - the correct term would be "Tonmineralien", if at all ("clay" translates to "Lehm" or "Ton"),

pflanzliche Fasern - the correct term would be "Faserstoffe" or "Pflanzenfasern" if you´d insist of having "plants" with the term,

Treibstoff - the correct term would be "Treibstoffe", it´s always used in the plural form in German in that particular context,

Milchvieh-Bauernhof - is "kindergarten" slang, the correct term is "milchwirtschaftlicher Betrieb", same with

Schaf-Bauernhof - either "Bauernhof (Schafhaltung)" or in short "Schafhaltung" (sheep breeding),

Ackerbau-Bauernhof - is terribly awkward, and
gemischte Farm - is another inexpressibly ugly "mixed" term, see below for hints,

Fruchtplantage - is again a rather uncommon term, "Plantage" being used generally in a tropical context: "Kakao-Plantage" (cocoa), "Kaffee-Plantage" (coffee). Inside Europe (temperate climate, not sub-tropic), the correct German term for agricultural production of fruit would be "Obstanbaubetrieb" and for "vegetables" it would be something like "Gartenbaubetrieb", "Gemüse(an)baubetrieb", etc. As German seems to be a rather precise language (in contrast to English) trying to put both "fruit" and "vegetables" in one German word for that particular production site would be not easy. In general, there´s a sharp distinction between "livestock farming" (german: Viehhaltung) and "crop farming" (german: Ackerbau). The German term for "mixed farming" being "Ackerbau und Viehzucht", o/c.

Papiermühle - is a rather outmoded term, "Papierfabrik" would be correct,

Bauxitmine - the usual term would be "Bauxitbergwerk" ("Bauxit-Mine" giving 19,000 hits in German Google, but "Bauxit Bergwerk" gives 109,000),

Holzverarbeitung - "holzverarbeitender Betrieb" would be correct ("Sägewerk" (saw mill) would be OK as well, BTW). The current term would be re-translate to English as "wood-working",

Maschinenladen - is a totally silly literal translation ("shop" == "Laden", but only in the context of a grocer´s "shop"!). In German something like this is called a "Maschinenfabrik", "Maschinenbaubetrieb", a small one could be named "Schlosserei" or "Werkstatt", etc, pp, and

Betriebsmittel as its product seems to be wrong to me as well, because it should be "Maschinen" (the window text says "it builds machines"). "Betriebsmittel" in German is a quite generic term: in the context of a machine shop it would translate to "operating materials", "maintenance resource", "means of production", "operational supplements", etc., pp,

Abfallhalde - gives 11,200 hits, but "Müllkippe" gives 111,000.

OK, enough for now. 8)

regards
Michael

Hey, nice releases, I love it! A small remark, I'd expect cows and sheeps to walk along slopes. Currently a farmer builds foundations to allow his cattle to walk flat land.
