Sounds interesting. I really like the idea with your windy rural roads. Myself I have many interesting plans including how to use some kind of local search based heuristics to improve the air links. Unfortunately you have to code your ideas too.

As instructed...attached is a bug screen...The debug screen was large so I saved it in two screen shots.

Unfortunately, you didn't include the numbers at the end of the lines, so the screen is of no help.

:( I'll get it right yet. I haven't played in over a year and I learning things all over again including new things. If it happens again I will get another screen shot. I did upgrade to 0.7.4 RC1 and I haven't had the problem with AdmiralAI yet. :)

No problem, as long you get those numbers. The reason they are actually useful is because they help determine what line of code caused the fault.

The short lines bellow the files and line numbers are not unimportant but just the first screen is really of any interest. The short lines tells what variables that were active and their values when the AI crashed. By looking at the names of them, my guess is that the crash happened in a path finder or a function called by the path finder.

That said, if you can next time include the full lines with the line numbers next time, that would help a lot to quicker identify exactly what went wrong.

Thanks very much for all the bug reports. Its nice to see people still use Pathzilla. :)

It looks very much to me like they are both the same error. Dont worry about the screenshots dtb1322.

I never tested save/load with 0.7.3 but I know other AIs suffered issues. 0.7.4 may fix this, though I'm not sure. If not, I'll push out a fix in version 7.

I'm very busy at the moment (yes even geeks have real lives too!), but I'd dearly like to get another release out before 2010. I've got some new features and bug fixes in my local repo (i.e. trapped on my desktop) that I think people will enjoy.

Thanks dtb1322. It definitely is the same error. I'm sorry it keeps happening!

What version of OpenTTD are you using? Could you try the 0.7.4 release version, if you haven't already?

Thanks

I myself am using the latest nighties, as of writing this is r18400 and the same error as posted in my other post occurs under the 0.7.4 stable too

Don't worry about the errors keeping on happening, it's part of the fun of designing new things  and i don't think I'm alone in appreciating the work you put into this AI :D I'll look forward to the new release in the new year

Cheers

JCB

I am getting the same error. Also using OpenTTD 0.7.4. Mostly appears when the game automatically saves (in my case yearly).

Got a similar bug to the guy above.
I've only captured the top of the debug console, because I don't know much about this stuff. There should be the option to export the AI debug as text file. Ah well, two seperate crashes:

The numbers at the very end of each line are the most important. They tell which line the AI crashed on. Can you please try to get a shot with the numbers?

Hello,

Just started playing OpenTTD, and loving it. Been mostly using Pathzilla v6 but am seeing crashes when loading a saved game. Every Pathzilla AI company in the game will crash not long after loading a saved game. I'm running OpenTTD 1.0.0 beta 1. Also, not sure if it is a bug, but I have yet to see Pathzilla use anything but busses and trucks so far.

Attached is a AI debug screen shot taken right after the latest crash.

(Off to post about problems with Admiral AI -- makes stations but no vehicles, except planes.)

Thanks! Hope you can find the problem since I'm enjoying Pathzilla except the crashes! Good competition.

Thanks for all the bug reports everyone. Its nice to see people are still interested in a mouldy old RV-only AI! :D

It seems I really need to fix this bug, however my PC is out of action at the moment. I'll try to get v7 out as soon as I get my machine up and running again.
