If you want to staret in 1830 just open the scenario file (scn) in the map editor of OpenTTD and set the start date to January 1830. Save the Scenario under a new name (example CarstsWorldScenario1830) and have fun playin it for endless decades... ^^

Good luck!

If you have problems doing that contact me again. In this case i will upload it myself...

Hi CARST,
I downloaded your europe scenario and tryed it with all the recommended .grf files. I really loved the scenario but customizing the dbset wagons has become quite a nuisance. So i tried it without the dbset. Problem now is that all normal trains now cost more than the double of what i'm used to.
I don't know if thats something that can be fixed by configuration or if its a problem with the missing .grf (I tryed to save the scenario in the editor with the .grfs, but with no effect.)

thanks,
w4ld

Hi waldfee,

i can not think of anything that could cause that "problem". You can play the scenario with or without the GRFs, if you don't use them a message appears, that's everyhting that should happen.

In this thread they explain how to compile under Linux and Windows OS:
viewtopic.php?f=33&t=21678

If you have a problem leave me a message, perhaps we could sort it out then. I have no Linux OS running at home, just a Linux webserver with root access.

Is there somewhere the european scenario that you vcan play with your own GRF's ?

I mean, i use the ECS GRF's, but if i play the scenario with my grf's loaded the new industries etc. are not loaded off course.

Maybe there is a Europe scenario without industries so i can add them myself or something ?

I got a private message from user "jake.grimshaw" today asking for the next releases...

If anyone else is wondering, i changed university in October, aiming for a double-degree now and i have much less free-time.

There will a time when i will restart my work on the annouced scenarios (Europe 4000x4000, Berlin/Brandenburg, Germany), but currently i have no time. Perhaps after June...

Regards,
Carsten

p.s. Hamilton2007: At this moment there is no way; you could open the scn file in the editor and delete all industries, but that is not really worth it in my opinion. I can just tell you to wait for a future release...

CARST has not been here in over three months, so most likely he isn't going to respond in a timely manner. CARST is not responsible for the patched version of OpenTTD that he used, so it is doubtful that he is going to provide one for you. You should read the guide on how to compile patches. You may also want to consider that the author of that patch, Bilbo, hasn't updated the patch since February, and himself has been absent since July. This patch may not compile against a current version of OpenTTD, and you may have to either work on updating the patch yourself, or use an older version of OpenTTD for it to compile.

Hi. Kamnet is right so far, I am not into compiling versions of OpenTTD myself. I did once, but lets say it was more or less successful.

But there are compiled versions out there wth the extra-large-maps-patch from Bilbo included. Look into the patches forum. There are always people out there compiling a sh*tload of patches into the latest builds and sometimes Bilbos patch is included, too.

As I am not following the forum currently, I have just to much work going on and paused my work on all maps, so I can not help you at all, sorry.
