OpenGFX - Graphics Base Set

Re: [8bpp] Graphics Replacement Project - OpenGFX
I've been having a play with the latest OpenGFX files and on the whole, I'm quite impressed.
I have found a couple of bugs though. The wooden bridge has a number of alignment issues. There are gaps between the bridge sections and it doesn't align properly with the tracks. There is also a flashing pixel, marked by the arrow.
The wood wagon has a sprite offset error and is showing white lines.

Re: [8bpp] Graphics Replacement Project - OpenGFX
Sorry for a stupid question, but how can I make them running? OTTD does not see them in new grfs window. (R14390)FooBar wrote:Try these if you like to see if bugs have been fixed or not.
Re: [8bpp] Graphics Replacement Project - OpenGFX
It should work if you just put them in your data directory (not in any subfolder). The newest nightly builds should automatically detect & choose them, afair.
Then there should be an option in the cfg about which set of graphics to choose, if you have both the originals and the opengfx.

I should have linked to the post instead of the download directly: http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?p=727224#p727224George wrote:Sorry for a stupid question, but how can I make them running? OTTD does not see them in new grfs window. (R14390)
In that post it reads: "Just unzip into your data directory. If the data directory is located outside the openttd directory, the game will use OpenGFX by default. Otherwise, add graphicsset = OpenGFX to the end of the [misc] section of your openttd.cfg."

Re: [8bpp] Graphics Replacement Project - OpenGFX
Interesting...
Your data directory is in the same place as your openttd.cfg? And you have extracted all files into that data directory (putting just the zip in will not work)?
If that doesn't work, try a fresh nightly, put the OpenGFX files in the data directory (without any TTD graphic files) and create a file called 'openttd.cfg' in the nightly's root directory before starting the game. Now OpenGFX should work and you should only get an error about a missing sample.cat.

1) created a new folderFooBar wrote:Interesting...

2) copied files from openttd-trunk-r14390-windows-win32.zip
3) copied opengfx1r.grf, opengfxcr.grf, opengfxhr.grf, opengfxir.grf, opengfxtr.grf into data folder
4) created openttd.cfg and edited it
Code: Select all
[misc]
graphicsset = OpenGFX
6) run OTTD and get exactly the same error
Re: [8bpp] Graphics Replacement Project - OpenGFX
If I recall right, the OpenGFX files must be in your OpenTTD folder that's in My Documents (on a win32 build, anyway). Create a folder named data in there, and put them in there, it should work.
Re: [8bpp] Graphics Replacement Project - OpenGFX
I just dumped the files into my data folder. I have OpenTTD installed in program files if that makes a difference.
Formerly known as r0b0t_b0y2003, robotboy, roboboy and beclawat. The best place to get the most recent nightly builds of TTDPatch is: http://roboboy.users.tt-forums.net/TTDPatch/nightlies/
Re: [8bpp] Graphics Replacement Project - OpenGFX
I've never had it work that way, I had to find the user-files where your cfg file is and make a data folder there, then put them in that data folder.

Re: [8bpp] Graphics Replacement Project - OpenGFX
You need to copy all of the files, including the .obg. It is there for a reason.
He's like, some kind of OpenTTD developer.

Re: [8bpp] Graphics Replacement Project - OpenGFX
Seem I have a problem with all maglev bridges, I don't know if it's caused by TTRSv3
That specific horizontal ramp is in the wrong direction , does not happen in other directions and with the ramp on the other side

Confirmed as bug. Will be fixed as soon as someone feels like fixing the alignment of the bridges.Wolf01 wrote:Seem I have a problem with all maglev bridges

Sorry it took so long for me to finish this...
Changes from v0.7:
- Added toyland fences
- Added airports
- Added bridges (normal and toyland)
- Fixed bridge alignments (hopefully)
- Fixed toyland road crossing orientations
- Toyland depots (unless I've missed them somewhere)
- Toyland bus/truck stops
- Toyland airports (possibly)
Re: [8bpp] Graphics Replacement Project - OpenGFX
Today I have the bug hunting spree..
1) The "p" letter on the graph gui have some white pixels ("Sep" and "Apr")
2) Male manager face, hairs(5) have a blank pixel
3) Male manager face, eyebrows 12 have many blank pixels on eyes
3) Male manager face, blue eye color is too evil... brr I fear those eyes when I look at them
4) Female face, most of the hairs don't fit with the face contour
5) Female manager face, eyebrows 3, from 7 to 11 and 15 have many blank pixels
6) The company colour "dot" is not coloured with company colour
Ok, seem all what I found for today
Nice work buttercup
