Hmm, it looks like a lot of fun!
Unfortunately I can't find all the essential GRFs, causing for some pretty weird industries to pop up in the game. Cola Wells which accept Gravel and Clay and produce goods, with weird graphics. :lol:

It's a shame :(

GoneWacko, I suspect that the gravel/clay would either be the outdated UKRSI, or (more likely), part of Pikkas new PBI. Even if you don't have it, I recommend it.

Pikkas Base Industries

used with:

UKRS Brick Chain, an expansion grf.

However, currently (to my knowledge, although I'm quite out of touch with most, if not all graphics projects, only the UKRS and the as-yet-unreleased NARS set actually show gravel/clay in their wagons. Other sets coded to allow the use of other industries will still work, although they might show "generic" cargo if they don't have specific graphics.

Hope that helps!

(Looking good there Jim, you know how much I love "postcard screenies" :)))

In that case, I suspect it's the outdated UKRSI industry set, which is superceded by the two grf's above.

Just looking back a couple of pages.

AWESOME stuff Jim :D

You are the god of making maps for this game. Love the screenshots too :D
I would play them but my TTDp has gone kaput. Cuts out as soon as I load it up. :(

I'll get it fixed some time in the future. Always do at some point.
Then i'll have a whole list of fantastic maps to play :D

Hi Jim and everyone!
It's so nice to see this thread as full of new ideas and scenarios as ever. Concerning the weird industries, I have been having them in all of the Jim Powers's scenarios since at least the Illustrous Italy, and I have always been thinking that's because I'm not a fan of ECS. May be Pica's industries should work, need to give'em a try. My weird ones usually include broken coal and ore mines, toy factories from nowhere and, besides, petrol stations that do not accept petrol. That was the case with the Almighty Alpine scenario (coal mines were all broken) and Beloved Balkans showed "unwilling" petrol stations (in fact they look all right but are called fruit plantations). Glad the solution's still available, for I really believe there's no better way to play than that with a new scenario from this thread :lol:

2Jim Powers,
Your Moscow City looks awesome to me, yet Moscow river should have some more curves, an island in the centre of the city and some big lakes in the west (just see the Google Maps for example). There should be some extensive forests as well, I can provide more details if necessary.
To conclude, here are the latest stats for your 3 scenarios at ttdrussia dot ru:
Russia Europart - 2638 times
Russia Asiapart - 1347 times
Illustrious Italy II - 654 times

Mr. Oleg;

Thank you, my Friend, for the 'info'. Sorry to be long at getting back to you all.
This month has been a 'bummer' at making money, so, I had to consentrate on that first.

Now, about the last 2 scenarios. I've use the Mr. Pikkabird's latest industries. Seems
like I have at least 2 sets of industries, (i.e. Food Processing Plant.) I must use the first
foods plant due to the fact that I haven't the the type of wagons for some of the
things in my industries. The "Plain Game" and "Almighty Alpine"
are both working very good at certain industries, which I've played 2 games of each,
in which I'm in the middle of a game from "Plain Game". Both really are very much,
if not prioritized by industry. The only small problem is that some of the engines do not
connect to the wagons correctly. Either they're 'bunched' up together or are too
far from each other. (If I sent you the config file maybe someone will see why.) If I'm
doing or loading incorrectly the grfs, maybe someone can correct me here. I do not have
coal mine problems in either of my last games.

Mr. Geo.c Ghost, gosh man, I hope you get your computer going. These last 2 scenarios
are probably my best and are a whole lot of fun. Thanks for your comments, ol' Buddy.

Mr. GoneWacko, I hope you got that grf problems resolved. Wish I could be of help
there, but, as I've said so many times, "I'm just a regular, not a pro." But, listen to the
'heroes' of TTD like my good and wonderful friend, Mr. Raichase, they usually get
the problem solved, right? :wink:

Finally, Mr. Oleg, your web site statistics are very encougaging to me, which I need right now,
because the last 6 weeks I have had the fewest downloads of my scenarios ever. (I don't
know why.) Maybe I need to 'back off' making scenarios for a while until the interest picks up?
I've not released "The City" yet, and probably wont until I feel there's enough interest for it.
(Probably the hot weather and busy summertime has something to do with it. Who knows?
Meanwhile, I'll just keep playing TTD! :D

Always,
Jim Powers

Dear TT-Forums Family;

I'm playing my 3rd game from my scenario "Plain Game". "Plain Game" is such a basic
playable scenario, that I can't seem to get away from it. Though each game has similarities,
yet, each time it plays out so completely different. :)

Here's the screenie of my main junction from my latest game.. :wink:

Mr. Louie Armstrong;

I just back on line. I had trouble with my modium, and we had one of those zillion Israeli
Holy Days, (Yon Kapor). This day you can't eat neither can you drive your car and 99%
of the businesses, including the cable company, aren't open. But, now I'm back in business.

You're gonna love "Plain Game". If I know you, and I think I do. It's so cool. I use
Mr. Pikkabird's Industries and trains which are perfect for this scenario. Listen,
I really do appreciate your kind comments, my Friend, please let me know if you have
any suggestion on my scenarios, OK? BTW, I'm working on a scenario about China.
I don't think there's been one made yet? :wink:
Thanks again.

Re: "The City"

Post by Jim Powers »

Dear TT-Forums Family;

I'm releasing my latest scenario "The City". :D

The other day I wondered if, with the all the new grf and patch features, I would be able
to accomplish what I accomplished when, in Feb. 2004, I made the largest single city that
was ever made in TTD, which had a population of 2,070,000 people. The scenario was
called "Jim's New York city".
Well, I made a larger city which even had a river running through it. I named the city 'Moscow'.
Though Moscow has a river also, (it's not exactly as the Moscow river,) never the less,
I wanted to bring attention to fact that Moscow, Russia is one of the largest cities in the
world, and my good friend and buddy Mr. Oleg, from Russia has been so nice to me
by allowing me to features some of my scenarios on his TTD Russian website. So, why not
name this last scenario "The City" Moscow? Population 2,140,727 people!

Here's "The City". I know you'll enjoy it. :wink:

Jim Powers

The City

Post by Jim Powers »

Mr. Raichase;

Thanks, my good Friend! There are still people you can depend on, Thank God.
I so appreciate you taking the time to add "The City" to my Page #1 List of Scenarios. :D
Also, you are correct about the population of 2,140,727 people in one city. You know,
one would think by now that someone else could find a way to make cities as large as I do.
I'm not that smart, period. Well, this might just renew the interest in trying to do so, don't
you think? I hope so. :wink:

BTW, I'm really glad to see your working on screenshots again. Thanks for sharing with
all of us TTD fans, your many talents, Rai.:bow:

The City II

Post by Jim Powers »

Mr. Louie Armstrong;

Thanks, Big Guy, I appreciate your kind words. I believe that this revised version
of "The City" will be even better. It's called "The City II"

OK, what's different? The first change was to widen the river running through the city.
The other improvement was that at all 4 corners, I removed a 5x5 section of 2x2
housing squares and also along edges of the 4 sides, I removed the outer 2x2 housing
squares. This makes it more playable because one can place a railroad system along
the outer edges almost immediately and the 5x5 corner sections can accomodate industry,
if so desired. :)

Now, even with the new changes in "The City II" I still have over 2,100,000 people
living in "The City II"
, (Moscow).Great fun and inspiration! :wink:

Mr. Raichase, my true friend and confidante, if it wasn't for friends like you, I'd
probably quit making scenarios a long time ago. but, with you understanding and
encouragement, I just keep trying to make better ones. Thanks for everything, Sir.

Here's "The City II" Super Pic.

Always,
Jim Powers

Re: Jim Powers' Scenarios & Games (TTDP)

Post by Jim Powers »

Dear Guests & TT-Forum Members;

I've just improved on "The City"
again! My latest version is call ed "The City III".

Look at the changes.
#1. I took out all the houses and roads which were out of the city limits, (no improved streets with sidewalks.)
#2. Increased the land borders to be closest to the edge as possible.
#3. Added corresponding Industries.

And........I'm still over 2,000,000 people in one city!

I hope you will enjoy my latest creation. "The City III"
Thank you.

Jim Powers

Re: Jim Powers' Scenarios & Games (TTDP)

Post by Jim Powers »

Dear Mr. Raichase;

About the time that I think that my time here is finished,
(interest in my scenarios has dropped dramaticly in the last
90 days,) and then I've been again 'put through the ringer',
by Israel's bunch of selfish, self-centered people, I turn to
TT-Forums and find that my true Australian friend has not
forgotten me, and my sad day turns to a 'glad' day.

Thanks for listing my last (and all!) scenario, Sir. you are

I was always check out this topic to see your latest fantastic creation Jim, unfortunately, your releases always coincide badly with me having just started a game that is getting somewhere. I've played a number of your scenarios and thoroughly enjoyed them. I intend to have a good stab at the City III when my next game is finished. It looks to be a great challenge and I look forward to it.

Thanks Jim :)

Re: Jim Powers' Scenarios & Games (TTDP)

Post by Jim Powers »

Mr. Ameecher;

Thanks, Buddy! I do appreciate your kindness. I'm playing "City III" now and the
improvements are a whole lot enjoyable. I just hope my scenarios are still as
challenging as ever. I really try to find what makes our TT-Forums family want
in the way of scenarios, then try to make such. I guess I feel like a failure at times.
If one knew how hard it is to live in this third world country, then they's better understand
why I make and play TTD. It is my best 'escape' from my 'less than perfect' world. Ha. Look,
most of these people are really nice to me. Yet, the government does very little, if
anything, to make their lives better. They are so eager to laugh, yet, there's not
too much for them at. I really do feel sorry for them. I just think this is why there is
so much 'dog-eat-dog' attitude over here. I never knew just how good I had it in
The States. There, so much is taken for granted. Oh well........
Thanks again for your encouragement, Sir. :wink:

Here's a 'night scene' from my saved game from "Plain Game."
