Thankyou. Dave's right. There is a difference between being a wise-ass back-seat moderator, and explaining to someone why their thread was moved. Normally, the moderator will do the latter already.

"I moved this because of blah blah blah". Works a lot better than someone saying move it, and then someone else saying "don't say that", then someone ELSE saying "oh stop it you two", and then the first person saying "well, you get a moderator then", and then "no u", and so on...

True. But when a topic suddenly got moved, the poster has to re-find it (assuming there's no shadow topic, of course). I'm talking about telling the poster his topic will probably be moved, so that he reads that before it's actually moved.

Of course, shadow topics will do, but I don't know if these drop down the view_forum automatically or that they'll need to be manually removed for that.

Nonsese. I can cite plenty of examples where the "report post" function isn't used, and people just mindlessly post "plz lock" or "moderators lock" over and over again...

If anything, this topic is MORE VALID. If you have a problem, report the post and notify a moderator.

Just a short reminder, I noticed that many members have forgotten the report post possibility
If you see anything like:
- Table breaking by big images
- Use of red or green colors
- Topic digging
- Unrelated topic spam
Just use the report topic button, type in your reason and we'll see what we can do
That is so much better than replying in a topic and then starting silly arguments....

I use it all the time but when you are clicking report and ask that you will be informed nothing happens. It sometimes looks like nothing happens. Offcourse i know that Moderators are people (Yes they are! They are not something like androids like me.)

I cannot recall seeing anything that tells me to reply to the reporter. I usually do that ayhow though, unless it's a minor issue.

I suppose phpbb3 should send a notification whenever the report is closed by a moderator. I don't know exactly how it works though.

I normally read the report, and most often if I feel its a minor thing, I will just ignore it incase another moderator thinks it may be something important to deal with, likewise if I feel its important I will take action based off that report and close it when I feel it has been dealt with.
I do feel that reports really lack a function for where you can store comments about what action has been taken or thoughts of it.

Good point, we still have to manually record what we did in reaction to reports in our home-made User: <name> topics.
