Balkan Scenario

Post by Jim Powers »

Mr. Wile E. Coyote;

I thank you for helping me understand. Now, if you'll continue to help me,
then maybe we can make you the Balkan scenario. I know little about the Balkans.
So, then I need to know what countries are included. And, are we talking about say
the last 100 years or so? Please remember that most of us Americans don't know
too much really about Europe or it's history. Or at least the guys I run around with. :oops:

Give me this 'info' and I'll go to work on it. OK? See, I didn't know too much about
Russia, but, I learned a lot after making "Russia Europart" and "Russia Asiapart".
(Russia Asiapart is the 4th most popular scenario I've made.) :wink:

Jim Powers

"Illustrious Italy"

Post by Jim Powers »

Dear TTD Members & Friends;

This week I completed testing my latest scenario "Illustrious Italy"!
In "Illustrious Italy", there is only one little small village of Bastria.
That's the only town and road. The reason I had to place at least (1) town in
the scenario or it could crash. So, aside from that, there are:
NO TOWNS
NO ROADS
NO INDUSTRIES

Now, here's what I found out. You place your RR station and you roads, THEN go
to the Editor, and click on 'build town' and presto you have a village with a RR station
and roads where you want. All you have to do is rename your town the Italian name
where it is located. 8)

I've had a really lot of fun this week playing "Illustrious Italy", I mean A LOT of fun! :lol:

A 'Super Pic' of "Illustrious Italy" is on page #65.

Again, Thanks Mr. Irish for the suggestion. Now you can make you cities and towns
any size you want, and with all the mountians this scenario has, you'll want to choose
wisely on how to place them and the RR tracks. Of course Automatically as the game
progresses, industries will suddenly appear.

Remember to send me "screenshots" of your games as they progress. :wink:

Always,
Jim Powers
Bastria is a little village along the coast of the island of Corsica, near Italy's west coast. It is the ONLY town in "Illustrious Italy".

Empty Map

Post by Jim Powers »

Mr. Captain_Kirk76;

Yes, the map is 'empty'. It sounds like you might not know what to do with it. If so,
I'll give you a 'step by step' way to have the fun I'm having. OK?
Step 1. Look at the 'screenie' I'm providing below of Italy. Pick a town/city.
Step 2. See where it is approximately on "Illustrious Italy".
Step 3. Make the roads and RR Station where you want them to be, and save your game.
Step 4. Go to The Editor, in Create Scenarios, and click on the "Town Generation" button
where you've put your roads/RR station and you've just made a town with the roads
and RR station where you want. Rename your town/city.
Step 5. Hold down Ctrl button and save your game. Return to your game and repeat
for another town and after Step 5, connect your RR tracks, roads, etc.

It just that easy. Now..............Go have fun! :lol:

Jim Powers

"Illustrious Italy II"

Post by Jim Powers »

Mr. Captain_Kirk76;

After your post, I got to thinking that just maybe there'd be those who wouldn't
want to install towns and industries. When you said "If so, is it possible to do one
thats all there too? like previous ones?"
I thought sure, why not? So
"Illustrious Italy II" is coming to TT-Forums........soon!

"Illustrious Italy II" will have;
MAJOR CITIES
FARMS & INDUSTRIES
ROADS within these cities.

Just like the other scenarios I made in the past. :wink:

Here's an 'overall' screenie.

Hi Jim,
I downloaded your scenario 'Illustrious Italy II' and I am having problems using it. Can you please tell me what GRF's you are using? I have tried using the ECS sets, but am having trouble getting some industries (including fishing grounds) to work and show properly.

Hope you can help,
Mike.

Grf Problems

Post by Jim Powers »

Mr. Miketrak;

Since I've got more Fish than I know what to do with them, I believe I can
help you get fish. :wink:

Here's my grf file. I'm currently playing a game from "Illustrious Italy", where you
add 'stuff'. But, I have the same grf.

Hi Jim,
Thanks for your reply, but I still have the same problem. Are you running OTT? or TTDPatch? I am running TTDPatch 2.5.0.80.
Here is my GRF file, I hope you, or someone, can pinpoint the problem.

Thanks,
Mike.

Still Problems

Post by Jim Powers »

Mr. Miketrak;

I'm certainally sorry that I wasn't able to get you in good shape. I've had trouble in time
past with Fishing Grounds. Are You seeing the fluttering birds at the Fishing Grounds?
If so, remember you must hold down the Ctlr button and click the 'Bouy'
icon in the "Dock" menu. Have you opened, in your "Game Options", the 'New Graphic
Status' Box and turned on the wanted grf? then clicked on the 'Apply' and 'Debug'
buttons?That's all I know to do, since I'm just a 'regular', not a 'Pro', and that's all I can
think of to do.

Maybe some of my super whiz friends can help Mr. Miketrak? :?
I'm most certain they will. And Thanks ahead of time!

Jim Powers

Code: Select all

#DISABLED#newgrf/ECSTOWNW.GRF
#DISABLED#newgrf/ECSAGRIW.GRF
#DISABLED#newgrf/ECSWOODW.GRF
#DISABLED#newgrf/ECSCONSTW.GRF
Notice something wrong with those?

Yes... They're disabled.

I believe fish is part of the Agricultural Schema.

You need to remove the #DISABLED# from in front of the line, and the ECS Schemes will load as you wish.

As it is, you may have to start a new game, or restart Jim's scenario or whatever.

I think that will solve your problem.

Hi Jim,
as you requested, here is some facts about Balkan. I suggest to use this map:
Image
(green are Balkan countries: Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Greece, Turkey, and light blue are optional countries: Slovenia and Romania)
Also, it'd be good for people from other Balkan countries to suggest what cities will be in map.
Thanx in advance! :D

Hi Jim.

I have been playing your scenario Illustrious ItalyII, from it i took several screenies and i tried to create a story type thing, like many others do, I hope you appreciate that this is my first attempt at such, and is therefore lacking in several aspects.

It can be found here http://ttdsaves.com/kirk/italyscen/

Thanks for your time :)
