This is a bunch of firsts for me: (256x256 random map, by the way)
-First game with a multi or mega station (different drop offs than pick ups)
-First game with more than 50 trains(first time to cross 100)
-First monorail
-First billionaire retire (I just let it run out on FF last night. Today I learned how to buy competitors, so, I'm not done playing yet. I'll start working again from this save date later tonight and see how far I can take it)
-First airports
Lessons learned:
-Why you need to cross over or underground even in the same direction. I spent ten years overhauling, and then re-overhauling the crossing from east of "picking up" to the "dropping off" side and vice versa. This lesson later proved very useful in at least two other parts of the map.
-Why you need turnarounds!
-Why 90s are bad. The choke at the exit of the mega station caused me to use that waiting area on the back end more than I should have had to. I SHOULD have tunneled that East West line at the top and expanded north before the cities got so thick and I put in another passenger station up there.
Overall, this is the first game I'm really proud of. Dinkin around I had a hundred and fourty some odd trains at one point running without much congestion at all, and no parking lots at one point last night. Then I reverted to what you see here and let this run out to get to billionaire.
My first mega station and another part of the map I'm also proud of:

here is my main station, everything ether goes through or past this junction, i only have 42 trains but most of em pass this place, i dont like to have massive massive stations, so i try to keep things lookign realistic, using the right engines for the right jobs, tho i have to admit i have used a few tgv's as coal services as i jsut needed it to be faster
if ppl want mroe jsut ask, got a couple more interesting junctions.
PBS rocks!!!
Tim
Ps, its not really 1983, it got to 2002 and i got bored with monorail so went back to 1980

Yeah, I know... I just got an idea of building a really great junction without having anything connected to it.White Rabbit wrote:That is scary. The tracks lead nowhere, the land is barren and all the towns have 0 population. Great junction though..it's like Find Waldo.

Maybe I will rebuild it in another savegame when its needed... then I will need much money and really much space (it would nearly use a whole 128*128 map

I also used many hours to build the crossover... nothing was planned, so I made it up from scratch, ended up demolishing tracks several times to move the tracks and so.
Some screenshots of yesterdays multiplay game via LAN with my two bigger brothers (used integrated nightly r3090I4.5).

I am using the latest integrated nightly build (r3090I4.5), where that is possible!webfreakz.nl wrote:Am I missing something, but since when can the trains of the opponent(red) bring their goods to the other opponent's (blue) station?
We even have stations where all of us are driving trains to (blue, red and yellow to a red station for example).
