[NL Trainset] Where is the 100% reliability version ?

Post by mijack »

I couldn't read the 39 pages of the NL trainset topic, but i saw that there should be a version without breakdown. Unfortunately i can't find it on the NL website. Where can i find it ? I just HATE breakdowns !

Use Wrapper tool to change that.
The manual is here:
http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?p=353780#353780
You can down load it here:
http://www.locomotion-fanpage.net/forum ... 126&lim=10

But you have to register first before downloading.

Ok, thanks. I guess there is no version without breakdown if you give me this link. But i'll change the DAT files manually then.

With Wrapper i takes only a few minutes for all the hundreds of vehicles in one go.

I've downloaded and installed Wrapper. When I run it, it starts up OK and I can tick options, but when I drag a .dat file into its rectangle, the actual game Locomotion starts up ! I close Locomotion down, but all Wrapper has done is to copy the .dat file in a new Normal folder. Other folders have been created called improved_reliability etc. but there's nothing in them.

That's strange, never heard of something like that.
Did you change the position of any folders after setup?
Try to reinstal Wrapper.
Sure your not dragging a exe in it?

On my PC i've Loco.exe in D:\Locomotion.

Lt Wrapper.exe and locotool.exe in D:\Locomotion\Wrapper.

Nope, I haven't moved any of the Wrapper folders. The files I've tried dragging in are definitely .dat files. Does the folder position of Wrapper relative to Locomotion game have any significance ? I'm at work right now so I can't try anything out, but I'll go for the uninstall / reinstall option tonight, if I'm sober enough when the pub shuts !

I used the 'one loco at a time' manual program to convert a .dat file to XML and back - that's fine. Whilst we're on that subject, which value do change in the XML to get 'no breakdown' mode ? I assumed that 100% reliability would do the trick, but apparently not.

For no breakdown change the line in the xml to this: 0

Code: Select all

<variable name="reliability" size="1">0</variable>
for no obsolete into this:65535

Code: Select all

<variable name="obsolete" size="2">65535</variable>
good luck.

Thanks for all that. Making 0% reliability = 'no breakdown' is the sort of thing I'd design then everyone else would raise their eyebrows at !
